Can you watch Pitt on espn3 on a smart TV ?

I am in the process of buying a new TV and deciding between one that is smart and not smart. It seems most of our games , at least in Philly, have been ESPN 3 and you end up watching it on a 19 in. computer screen. Can a smart TV allow you to watch ESPN 3 on a big screen ?
