In keeping with the theme of working the Cathedral into the athletic uniforms, I think that a Cathy themed stripe on the pants would work well. Keep in mind it would look much better if done by an actual graphic artist.

Honestly, I would put a cathedral silhouette on the basketball floor of the Pete. I think that could look cool. Otherwise, I would separate athletics and academics. I just don't think those football numbers look good at all.

The irony being that it's been back for football for a few years now. And, very few fans cared about the script being on the other jerseys. They had a nice, clean script look on last year's jersey. They didn't need to do much. Instead, we look like UConn. Of course, winning is everything, but Pitt's jerseys are second to a lot of decent programs. Ole Miss, Cal and Florida are the three other most prominent programs, all Nike, that sport script logos. ALL of them have much, much better looks. I just assumed Nike would model Pitt's after one of the those three. Most modern is Cal, classic and best is Ole Miss and in between is Florida.
Just don't like feeling second fiddle to other Nike script logo squads.

I doubt many would figure out its the Cathdral. It would look like a poorly done stripe which not even a real artist could help.
Wish they'd just mimicked the Cal look. Modernize the numbers a bit, instead of bear on the shoulder sleeve, make it the Cathedral, a la the back of the hoops jersey, and good trim on the navy jersey just as they already added blue on the white jersey. And, again, with the numbers, instead of bear outline, the Cathedral again there. That... Would be an awesome modernization of the script. Sigh. So easy... And Nike literally just did something similar with Cal a couple years ago. Pitt fans would've flipped. Oh, yeah, have a gold, white and blue jersey. And, gold, white and blue pants just as they already do.
New unis look a lot more like Florida than UConn. The blues actually look like the same template as Florida, just different font/no pant stripe. Stop just stop... We look nothing like Uconn... The cathedral stripe is awful...& all this playing 2nd fiddle nonsense is conjured in your head... It's typical self loathing yinzer stuff...it didn't take a year because of some 2nd fiddle crap... It took a year because they modified the entire athletic department which is no small task...

For those who think it's important for the Cathedral to be on the uniforms (by the way, I'm not one of them), I have this suggestion: where some jerseys have some sort of piping running from the underarm area down the sides of the jersey (something that used to be seen only on basketball jerseys, but over the past decade or so, we've been seeing it on football jerseys): place a Cathedral image there on each side.
The only thing worse than calling the Cathedral "Cathy" is putting it on the side of football pants.

I bet if PITT admin asked 1k adult fans over 40, the ones who pay the PITT bills, at the first game about the uni's and the Cathedral theme they would get a lot or mostly blank stares.
Only PITT fans would be obsessed with putting a picture of a building ( Cathedral ) on their uni's.
I wonder if Clemson and Alabama or any other D1 U that's serious about football is discussing this on their football board>>??
The whole Cathy /Cathedral thing is ridiculous. Changing history so a few spoiled kids can feel good while attending PITT for a few brief years.
