Hard to take this ranking seriously. Georgia State, who lost to WVU 44-0 then beat powerhouses: Western Michigan, The Citadel, Idaho and La-Monroe is ranked 35th? They moved up 10 spots this week after beating a 1-4 La-Monroe team. I want whatever this guy is smoking.

Ya, Ga Southern ranked ahead of WVU? How is PSU ranked ahead of WVU or Pitt? Also, NC State just lost fairly bad to Va Tech and is around 15 spots higher beating Troy, S Bama, and ODU?

I don't rate them, I just post them, I agree there are questions and discrepancies hard to understand, but so are most Polls! The best way to go higher is win and when losing happens all go down.

You can't take rankings seriously. They are a joke and sadly these are what helps to decide the playoffs now and the national champion in the past.

This year Auburn, Oregon, USC, and Georgia were in the top ten preseason. Where are they now. And it is always that way. Notre Dame ALWAYS gets a preseason ranking no matter how bad they may be. We see this every year. It is a popularity contest and that is all it is.

I guess it is because they are 5-1 versus 4-1 and 3-2 and the CBS Ranking does not take into account SOS? Someone one else must put up Sagarin SOS Ranking?

In essence, to date only WVU has played Two Top 25 Teams and they themselves have been ranked in the Top 25. WVU Fans have to be scratching their Heads. They get blown away by OU that loses to Texas, and then almost win in OT against OKSU, that is now Ranked 15th?

Penn State Fans don't care, they take beating nobodies and the absolute lowest Ranked Teams as the usual way they moved up in all Rankings? Akron is higher ranked than 5 Teams on Penn State Schedules all wins for Penn State?

Pitt Fans have to tolerate that Akron moved up, VT moved up, and UVA fell big time being 1-4 regardless how they played against ND & PITT? Pitt barely loses to 6-0 Iowa and not much consideration? even if PITT beats GT, it just lower GT? Yet, YSU might be better than anybody on Penn State Schedule, Liberty too?

All of a sudden, Georgia Southern is ranked higher than WVU & Pitt and has a higher Rating than 7 Teams on WVU & PSU Schedule and Pitt by 9 Teams? If the ratings were correct then WVU will end the season 6-6 since they have GSU now at 36th in spite of losing to WVU?

I am sure it will all wash out as the season begins the second half of the season?

Penn State is 21 Points Underdogs to Ohio State Away!

Pitt has to beat Johnson Georgia Tech Away!

Yes thanks for posting but I think all polls so far are a joke. James from State College doing things the JoePa way scheduling cream puffs. Somehow gets a very generous ranking though. Just go check out BWI, a lot of their own fans talk about how terrible their team is this year.

Ray-Ray, I took no offense from your Post whatsoever, I understand these Ratings and Rankings are as most, based on records more than any kind of logic or real study of Opponents. Bookies can post better and more reliable Rankings as usual.

I only put it up because it is one a few to none Websites that rates all 128 Teams so All Posters on the Lair can compare changing Schedule Strength among our favorite Teams, Competitors, and Rivals on Wins & Losses, Sos Recruiting!

It is one of the few measurements we can use to compare Game to Games, Week to Weeks and Preseason to Postseason! The Posters on the Lair are smart enough to understand all its flaws, weaknesses, and questionable Ratings, but better to have something than nothing?

I would love to have a Cigar with you one day! I used to smoke them a long time ago and now only do it on rare occasions and Thank You!
