Per one of the schools:
"Earlier today, in conjunction with the other 10 schools in the Centennial Conference, the difficult decision to suspend the fall sports season was announced. Because many of our alumni follow XXXXX athletics, we wanted to let you know. "

The IVY league doesnt depend on their football program to generate revenue. This will not fly in the SEC (maybe the push the season back part, but they are going to do everything in their power to play football).
If revenue is the driving force as you claim why did baseball give up 100 games and try to play 60 with no fans, where the majority of their revenue comes from? Why did the NBA just give up playing games in front of fans and is trying to play in a bubble where they will lose millions and millions and why is soccer being played in front of nobody in Europe where there are far fewer cases than here. And why are most big companies paying a fortune to lease empty office spaces so their employees can be space working at home. I guess only the SEV givesd a crap about revenue but billionaires don't. Explain.

A majority of baseball's money does NOT come from ticket sales and other in park spending. MLB says that makes up 40% of their revenues. Most other sources think it's actually a little less than that, closer to 35%. MLB says that central revenue (national television, mlb.com, stuff like that) is 25% and local media is 22%. Which means that television brings in more money than fans in the park even if you believe the fairy tale numbers that the teams that also own their RSNs claim that the teams get from that arraignment.

Remember too that MLB was trying to get additional playoff games added (something that still could perhaps occur) because of the big money that the networks pay for playoff games, which would skew things even further towards television over the live gate.
