here's the ACC projections:

Fiesta Bowl (CFP): Clemson vs. Ohio State

Orange Bowl: Florida State vs. Michigan

Taxslayer: Miami vs Georgia

Citrus: Virginia Tech vs Florida

Sun: Pitt vs Stanford

Belk: North Carolina vs Kentucky

Russell Athletic: Louisville vs WVU

Pinstripe: Georgia Tech vs Northwestern

Military: NC State vs Houston

Independence: Wake Forest vs South Carolina

St. Pete: Boston College vs South Florida

If the Citrus takes VT instead of Louisville, and I kinda doubt they will, that really helps Pitt's Russell Athletic chances to play WVU. Louisville's fanbase is demoralized and I think more Pitt fans make the Orlando trip than Louisville fans.

Mine:

Fiesta: Clemson
Orange: FSU
Citrus: Louisville
Russell Athletic: Virginia Tech

Tier 1
TaxSlayer: Miami
Belk: Pitt
Pinstripe: UNC
Sun: GT

The Pinstripe will never take Pitt. I think the Belk would want UNC but their players would choose to get away to NYC since they play in Charlotte often and were in the 2013 Belk Bowl.

I think the Belk takes Pitt over GT since I think Pitt would sell more tickets despite being 3 hours further away.

Unlikely, but I'd love to play FL or UGA in 1 of the bowl games in FL.

-Beating up on an overrated team would be great. Personally, I still would like to get a ranked Nebraska and blow them out. But Florida, West Virginia, those are fine too because neither is all that good and they are ranked.

Leave it to rest. We are not playing in the Russell athletic bowl nor wvu.

The last bowl I want to go to is the pinstripe. It'll be cold as hell and we'll be playing an awful weak10 team.
Sunbowl would be ok if we play a quality opponent. Highly doubt it'll be Stanford. They'll be in a bigger bowl than that.
This is very unlikely, but the belk bowl wouldn't be bad.

Winning 9 games is more important than playing the best opponent possible. Remember the damage caused last year when Pitt lost to Navy? I can't fathom playing Temple and getting upset by a midmajor. If we can't get an overrated big name team, I'll take a beat down vs a team like northwestern.

What damage did losing to a great navy team last year cause?

Wonder if a matchup with Iowa in the Pinstripe is possible. Because you know they're gonna be ranked ahead of Pitt despite a blowout loss to a team we beat and a loss to an FCS team, what since they're Big Ten and all.

So I'd like to see who's really better. Also avenge last year's loss.

-Are you kidding me? All off season that was the talk. How Navy, a midmajor team, scored at will and had 600 + yards of offense or whatever it was against Pitt. We got zero preseason hype because of that loss when we should have started in the preseason top 25. Even the beat pitt sports writers wouldn't stop talking about navy

If Pitt and Stanford draw 25 fans combined, I'll be impressed.

you guys overestimate the importance of these bowl games. They are exhibitions, more of a reward to the program than a 13th game.. Half the time you are playing younger players getting ready for next year.. They are played a month after your last game, no momentum to be carried over from the last game..

Look at these for what they are, exhibition games with very little, if any, meaning..

Why will the Pinstripe never take Pitt?

Yeah, why? The Pinstripe is probably a location, like Annapolis, where more Pitt fans might travel to.

I saw a projection of Pitt/Northwestern in the Pinstripe. I'd like that, NYC and a team I think we'd beat. that matters to me, I'd rather go 9-4 than go to some bowl and play the 4th place SEC team and get rolled.

-The ACC has rolled the SEC all year. Clemson, Florida State, and Georgia Tech are 6-0 vs the SEC this year. Most of those games were blowouts.

LOL, who was talking about that? Navy beats power 5 teams ALL THE TIME, they are AAC, the best non-P5 league, winning against teams like Pitt is common for them.

We would beat the the 4th place team in the SEC. Heck - we would win the SEC East. I would love to play FL. A big name opponent in a good bowl game.

Maybe, but who has a I-AA, D3 level pass D like Pitt. LOL

-Pitt is averaging 60 points per game the last 3 games, with a road win at Clemson. Georgia Tech didnt have a problem beating Georgia down in Athens Georgia this weekend. Nor Did Florida State have a problem annihilating Florida.

I can't believe Iowa is ranked and Pitt is only 3rd among teams receiving votes

Pitt's #24 in the AP, I always just choose whatever poll ranks Pitt highest to believe that week.

you'd like that, really? Talk about an understatement, I'd take off my pants and run around my neighborhood screaming on the top of my lungs. Of course I do that now already but at least I'd have a good reason this time..

I'm sure the ACC & Bowls will be having discussions on who is going where this week.

I will bet anyone here 100 bucks that Pitt puts up more points than their last appearance there....any takers?

The odds we don't get the pinstripe or sunbowl are very very slim.
Russell athletic is out of the question. The Belk could be a possibility, but very unlikely.
