Probably the most decorated HS wrestler in PA history with a 166-0 record and 4 state titles, who transferred from Oklahoma State to Lock Haven after being kicked off the wrestling team there, was arrested today and charged with 6 counts of assault and various related crimes during an altercation on campus. His career at Lock Haven might be over before it begins.

In Other news Max Murin from Central Cambria north of Jtown verballed to Iowa. he the third PA wrestler this year to verbal to Iowa. Another Young Guns wrestler heading west. Other finalists were PSU and Pitt.

Tom Brands can recruit. And, he could have been Pitt's coach instead of VT's coach if SP had given a damn about Pitt wrestling and fired Stottlemyre back then. Of course, I'm pretty sure he would have left for Iowa after a year, like he did at VT. But, he built the foundation there which they have used to become a top ten national program.

It also is possible that he wouldn't have left because of the fertile recruiting territory. He was at VT before Sanderson took the PSU job and if he had been at Pitt, he would have made it much tougher for PSU recruiting-wise.

Pitt could have had Terry Brands also if they had wanted. Ed and Lou Bannach looked into the Pitt job, but Pitt was not interested.
