In today's Position Primer on cornerbacks I wrote about some other CB targets Pitt is pursuing, but I would probably rescind that at this point, since from what I can gather, the Pitt staff is focusing pretty much all of its efforts on Therran Coleman and Damar Hamlin. I don't think they have cut off all contact with the other prospects, but Coleman and Hamlin are the top priorities right now; it's not even close and they don't seem to be actively recruiting many, if any, other corners.
Obviously if they miss on one or both of those two guys, they're going to have to double-back and start over with some other recruits. But I'm getting more and more confident that they won't miss on those two, and I think Coleman and Hamlin are impressed that the staff is focused on them so much.
Also, even though I have said a bunch of times that I think Hamlin is a safety, it sounds like Pitt has told him that he projects as a cornerback. So this class could end up with three corners (Coleman, Hamlin, Ffrench) and one safety (Garner), or two safeties if they land another guy they like.
Given the current depth, 3 corners and 1 safety makes at least some sense.
