Lots of teams employ a DT and a separate DE coach. With adding a 10th assistant, they could easily add Partridge, as well.

Why would they name Scott the Defensive Line Coach is he is only coaching the tackles? That doesn't make sense.

I don't know, but they can't technically have the 10th coach yet, so it could be a matter of not changing titles until then.

That's a pretty big stretch, especially considering how few teams employ a DT only coach. Partridge at Georgia reeks of message board speculation.

Exactly. And that is what the big (most) schools will do.

It isn't a stretch at all. It is certainly speculation, but it is exactly what schools are doing. Some already do it with 9 coaches with DT/DE, some with ILB/OLB, some CB/S, some OL/TE, etc. It all depends on the scheme and the HC, OC, and DC focuses.

Not even sure why you fire someone after LOI day and don't have a replacement ready to go almost immediately.

And to think there were people that wanted to hire Narduzzi as Athletic Director. If it takes him two months to hire a Coordinator how long would it take him to find a head basketball coach? 5 months? a year?

I'd never want my head football coach to be an AD, it would be unfair to him and the rest of the athletic dept. I don't care how much you delegate, it's a 2 man job regardless..
