Wasn't he supposed to definitely come to Pitt according to most on here?? I remember reading his name it seemed in every other thread as 1 of a few "dream guys" that were coming to have this great recruiting class.

Guess that didn't pan out huh.

Kansas coach Bill Self told CBS Sports on Tuesday morning that unless the NCAA clears Cheick Diallo by Wednesday night the five-star recruit will not play in the Jayhawks' exhibition game against Pittsburg State at Allen Fieldhouse.

"We'll hold him out if he isn't cleared," Self said.

Diallo is the highest-profile freshman still waiting for academic clearance from the NCAA. The issue, a source has told CBS Sports, stems from his time at Our Savior New American, a private school in New York where Diallo, a native of Mali, spent the past three years before becoming the Most Valuable Player of the 2015 McDonald's All-American game.

There is no timetable for a resolution.

Still, KU officials are optimistic they'll know something soon.

Kansas is ranked fourth in the preseason AP poll.

The Jayhawks open the regular season against Northern Colorado on Nov. 13.

I can't recall any poster stating that he was coming to Pitt. He was a teammate of Damon Wilson, so a lot of posters hoped that would help steer Him to Pitt.

You might want to change the title of the topic...it's more likely that Diallo will be ineligible for a much longer period than some early time.

Are you sure "most on here" were certain he was a lock? I didn't realize we had that many insiders. Seems a stretch to me. We were pursuing him heavily, nobody ever said he was a Pitt lock. He was Wilson's teammate, and that was an in. Nothing more than that.

It is either ridiculous hyperbole or complete fabrication to suggest that "he supposed to definitely come to Pitt according to most on here."

Most I can recall was the Church of Slice claiming that if Rohrssen stayed he was a Pitt lock.

Even that probably wasn't true, though.

Pitt made the final 3 (KU, SJU, Pitt), a number of fans & alumn were hopeful. I don't recall Diallo ever being more than a hope.

No one EVER said he was definitely coming to Pitt. We all hoped for a long time that he would, though.

Maybe I got confused and grouped him in with everyone else that was supposed to make up this top 5 recruiting class. Just unbelievable that not one of those 5 star guys ended up coming here.

Or maybe it isn't.

If a person paid attention and saw how it went down, it was more disappointing than unbelievable. Of course, if you want to ignore all that and push an agenda, there is no stopping you.
