...Sal Paolantonio (ESPN) is reporting that there are rumors floating around that Chip Kelly is very interested in returning to college coaching, a la Jim Harbaugh. Would the Nits pony-up the buy-out in James from State College's contract and really go Big Time?

Why would fraudy franklin leave the greatest job on the face of the earth. It has nothing to do with being the third best team in the state does it?

I'm sure Nitter fans will say they've heard Chip is talking to PSU right now. Every big time coach that doesn't have a job or is possibly moving they say that about. Fact is, Chip Kelly probably would never have any interest in that job. Penn State also would not just drop James from State College to bring in another coach like that. Now, if they lose out and for some reason he gets fired, then maybe they'll try and sway him. But I really don't see this as realistic at all.

If Franklin does fail at Penn State, we can expect a hire along these lines. You do not discuss rebuilding Beaver Stadium, putting 15 million into facility upgrades, and have a current coach hired at 4.5 million unless you plan to win and win big. Sometimes rooting for a coach to fail is the worst thing for a rival fanbase to do. I'm sure they rooted for Chryst to fail, now they have to deal with Narduzzi.
Agree, I'm fine with James from State College being there. I wonder if he calls recruits on the phone the same way. "Hey, this is James from State College, just wanted to let you know we'd love to have you play for the Nittany Lions."

Exactly. Many of us were hoping that Joepa would live (and coach) until he was 116. :D

Oh please, let him stay....please! :D

An hour ago he just said again that he has no plans to go to college. He said he hopes to be like Tom Coughlin where he wins enough games that he won't be asked this question anymore.

Franklin isn't going anywhere for at least 3 years.

Yes. i heard from a friend of a friend who heard on a message board that it's pretty much a done deal. The Franklin-era is over as we know it.

Good while it lasted. Also, the same person is best friends with Miles Sanders, Lavert Hill and Quinn Nordin, all of which are quoted as saying they love Chip's style. Therefore, it's pretty safe to assume that their verbals are as strong as oak.

Good day for "the Nits"!!!!!
Molested children: "....not pleased, and still seeking justice in Centre County."

It appears that way, so far....

This, from philly.com:

But really, what else could he have said? He's not even midway thu his NFL season......
(Harbaugh often denied that he was leaving the 49ers, too.)

I guess Kelly could sink to the lowly depths of Petrino who bailed on the Falcons during a season, at least I think that scumbag did?

This, from Wikipedia:

"On December 10, 2007, with the Falcons at the bottom of the NFC South with a 3-10 record, Petrino resigned to take a job as the head coach at Arkansas. Petrino informed his players of his decision to resign via a four-sentence laminated note left at the locker of each player, a move that many in the organization labeled as cowardly."

Yeah. Remember how Urban Meyer wanted the state penn job? But somehow ended up at The OSU.

Not a chance!

Ron Cook says Tom Bradley is in line for the job.:cool::cool:

Ummmmm........considering the USC's are open, along with possibly Texas, and PSU's is not, no. What the hell, some you get 2 and 2 and end up with 112 as the answer. #lackinglogic.

Maybe he figured the players didn't like him and could care less if he left. So he went the laminated note route.

Didn't you hear? He just wasn't Penn State material. Apparently you have to be involved in a rape scandal to be considered for the PSU job.

That or maybe Meyer is more interested in winning football games than he is in hiding things to protect his image.

Chip might just end up back at Oregon, the way their season has been going I can see them canning Helfrich is Chip were to suddenly decide he wanted to return.

That's true, first it was Sandusky abusing children, then they hire Franklin from Vanderbilt rape cover up and the chancelor from Florida St, the Winston sexual abuse case. These types congregate to PSU and they take these nut cases in and all this is in our state of Pa. The governor should step in and fire them all including their AD because she is state penn

No offense parrot, but why are you or anyone else speculating on this?

Why not? The Nits love winning. (They even value winning so much that they protected a child molester.). Everyone knows that Franklin won't get it done. Is he better than Urban Meyer? Jim Harbaugh? Dantonio?

The Nits have the will, and they have the money. Chip Kelly is a proven winner.

Do I think it's gonna happen? No, the timing is bad. But if Franklin isn't winning BIG in two years, his seat will be extremely hot. Mark it down.

I get it, but I hate these kind of threads..... Peace!

The Nits love winning so much they would ship off their first born daughter to ISIS for a football win!

Yes, but I thought there was actual speculation from the media...
The media is openly speculating that he might return to collegiate coaching. Sal Paolantonio on ESPN discussed it - and it doesn't get much bigger than that, media-wise. If you recall, the Harbaugh rumors began with similar speculation, and Harbaugh kept denying it. We all know how that turned-out.

The question is where he might end-up, provided that he does jump ship in some port not named Philadelphia. It's an internet message board - feel free to speculate. No harm in that, as long as you don't claim that it's "factual".

I would guess a west coast school for Chip
