Chris Dokish

He blocked me as well. Near as I can figure, it was because we seem to have diametrically opposed political views, and I responded to a question he posed during the DNC. Shame - I really did enjoy reading his material, but wish he'd stick to sports. What's funny is he blocked my brother as well, presumably because he favorited my response to Chris' question.

He is upset with the program and is lashing out at everyone. He seems to me to be miserable these days.

He's miserable in general. Last week he blamed fans for criticism, caught hell and went on a block fest. He tweeted a pic of a Pitt shirt before he blocked me. That thing looked like a tarp. He must be 450 pounds

I see no indication that he is upset with our program. He just recently defended Pitt and Narduzzi with tweets about Saban and Dantonio losing to inferior teams early in their tenure, but Nard has not yet done that. I think Chris is very pro Pitt. But, he has recently gotten political, and I think that has 'turned off' the other side.

I agree. He likes Narduzzi and feels the program is going in the right direction. Cook had an article that basically slammed Pitt and Penn State and said we both stink. Dokish thought Pitt and PSU were heading in opposite directions, as we have lost two games we were favored to lose by a total of 8 points. PSU got crushed and likely will to OSU and MSU.

Cook wrote an article lamenting on down times at Pitt and PSU. Dokish re-tweeted the article saying, "Pitt is disappointing because they barely lost 2 games in which they were the underdog? RON COOK IS THE WORST"

I would tend to agree with his estimation however several people rushed in to defend Cook or talk Pitt down.

Whoever defended Cook for such a garbage article is a self loathing Yinzer fool.... Pitt wasn't favored in either loss....

But the truth is Cook knows Penn State absolutely sucks... However he just can't type that without bringing Pitt into it...he just can't...this won't change the facts that yes Penn State sucks or that Pitt beat them head to head. ... And at no point did they ever lead.

Pitt pissed away a golden opportunity last Saturday. Now, we're probably looking at another 4 or 5 loss season.

Recruiting stinks. It's impossible to feel great about the future when we are struggling so bad upgrading the roster. We hope the futre is better, but there is very little happening right now to make me think we are going to be significantly better any time soon.

Well, what is the alternative? It is what it is. Pitt is trying to win, and has been very close the last two games. The staff is recruiting hard, but college football is a 'best chooses first' entity much of the time. It seems as if the consensus (even nationally) is that Pitt is headed in the right direction. Hopefully, we see improved results with time. In the meantime, as fans, we either accept it and continue to support, or be dissatisfied and not support. We all have a choice to root and financially support whomever we choose. And, we have to take the bad with the good or just not be a Pitt fan.

Recruiting stinks.

People keep saying this. Based on what exactly? It's been pointed out they were in the 20s last year and that didn't include Clark and Hendrix. This year's is FAR from over. I realize this year's class isn't stellar but there's a way to go at this point.

But did include some star recruits who won't ever play.

Internet rankings are meaningless. We are in desperate need for splash players on both sides of the ball

If this team had one legit wide receiver right now, even a guy that was 75% of Tyler Boyd, it would be in much better shape.

As it stands, they're one dimensional on both sides of the ball. So it's not hard to understand, they're only going to beat teams that can't throw the ball and can't stop the run.

Boyd made Nate look decent, by bailing him out constantly.

He's not remotely good as a qb

No argument here. The fact Pitt has been able to put up points at this pace with a quarterback that can't be trusted to throw across the middle or deep is actually kind of crazy.

When the money's on the line late - these defensive coordinators have been able to adjust and sell out against the run game and protect the perimeter on the ground- because they dont believe Pitt can or will test them deep on the edges and Canada hasn't shown a propensity for taking the easy yards over the middle because he clearly doesn't trust the accuracy of his quarterback.

Understood about the guys who will never play but in terms of the actual recruitment I don't feel it's relevant. They didn't know about it and they still successfully got them here.

Interesting. I just went on twitter to see what all the fuss was about. I'm blocked too. I've never commented, favorited, forwarded or retweeted anything of his?? What a lame ass coward!
