First off Happy Father's day, so don't worry about getting around to my questions until tomorrow.
What's the deal with Jo-El Shaw? I noticed his name in Brain's report today, but we really never hear much about him. I just thought I 'd ask since we just received a RB commit today.
I noticed Shaw is now listed as a fullback. I believe that is a switch from running back in the previous rankings?
We currently have two FBs on the roster that will be seniors on campus when the 2016 guys are true freshman. I would assume PITT would want to take one fullback this year, unless they just plan on getting a walk on?
I will admit, we don't really know much about Chaney's offense. I remember his comment about only using a good fullback. I'm no coach but it seems to me that Shaw could be a versatile fullback.
Going off that point, what's the deal with TE recruiting?
I don't view TE as a priority in this class, but recruits have told you that Salem wants to bring in 2 (1 pass catching + 1 blocking). Shaw seems to be versatile enough to fill the blocking role. I'm sure he could also run routes out of the backfield.
Do you still think the plan is 2 TEs?
It just seems like we are whiffing on all the TE options and we still never hear much about Shaw.
Shaw is one of my favorite/underrated recruits in this class so I just thought I'd ask after seeing his name in the passing camp report today. I think he'd be a great versatile RB/FB/TE/H-back.
Thanks and again Happy Father's day and thanks for all the work you do on the site.
