1) Matthews - What's your take on his recruitment. It's been a little quiet with him. He's been rumored to being on the verge of making a decision since June or so and obviously he's not quite there although reportedly he's down to Pitt and Maryland. Pitt's depth chart is favorable for a person of his ilk, and that's only been confirmed since the season started, which leaves the 2016 receiver depth chart as open and opportunistic for a recruit as any P-5 team. Throw in Peterman (should he continue developing as a pure passer) as a more receiver friendly quarterback, and a highly experienced offensive line protecting him, and you have quite a unique opportunity for any incoming receiver in 2016. Do you think he's waiting for more offers?
2) Jeter - I've read that Narduzzi is personally recruiting Jeter from Beaver Falls. Not sure if that was opinion or fact Are you aware of this and if true is this position taken with any other recruit to your knowledge?
3) Paris Ford and Wade - I'm not giving meaning to this but in recent interviews with Paris Ford and Wade, both were quoted as saying PSU (Ford) and OSU (Wade) were recruiting them the hardest. Both were complimentary of Pitt and gave no reason to think that the schools recruiting them the hardest had an edge, but considering the intensity of this staff's recruiting prowess, I just found it interesting. Any thoughts on this other than the fact that they're focused more on 2016 first and foremost, and that both PSU and OSU fills there classes earlier? Perhaps it's a strategy. Don't know. Just curious. Your'e read?
4) Winfree - Assuming there's significant interest in Winfree, what was gained by him attending a JC instead of Pitt accepting him as a transfer this past summer? Scholarships? Wants to see academic effort?
5) Ejuan Price - Narduzzi's and Chryst's staff have used Price at DE, yet he has the skills (I think) and build of a classic middle linebacker. At 6' 250 with straight line speed and instincts (seen during the Fraud era when he played outside linebacker) he seems to be perfect for inside linebacker, which seems to be the least productive of the front 7. What do you see that makes him a clear DE and not a consideration for LB.
6) Jester Weah - After reading about Brian O'Neil's off-season discussion with Narduzzi about needs on the Offensive Line which precipitated his switch to OT, I thought of others who may have held discussions with Nardzzi, but with different results and I thought of Weah. Might be the fastest on the team at 6'3" 205, but depth chart has 3 freshmen and a RS Sophomore ahead of him. Any rumblings of him at LB.
7) Jarrett & Mosley-Smith - What Tyrique Jarrett is doing this year, I felt he did last year but played sparingly. Any backstory with this? Having clearly elevated himself as the top interior lineman and a 2 year starter in Mosley Smith, now 3rd team DT , what has occurred to make this happen? It's an odd demotion of sorts that's gone under the radar, but has piqued my interest because I thought this should have happened last year. Not necessarily Mosley-Smith being demoted, but Jarrett playing a lot more. He's very disruptive inside. He manhandles guards and centers, totally screwing up opposing teams running plays and forcing double teams has created huge interior lanes, allowing Grigsby and the linebackers to get unobstructed penetration into the backfield which has led to sacks and tackles for losses. Unfortunately, there's not a statistic for knocking people around and total disruption.
