Don't disagree with that. But that's not the way that most college teams play today. Lined up deep in a shotgun with no lead blocking back is a tough way to make short yardage, especially vs a D like Bama's.
For Clemson to win this, they'll need to spread Bama out and make plays in space 1 on 1. Watson will have to be effective as a runner, too. Especially on broken plays where Bama secondary has their backs turned chasing receivers.
The 2 head shots Bama laid out on Williams and Watson early were meant to send a message, IMO. Clemson needs to overcome that and get Bama in open space and use their speed and playmakers to make plays.
On D, get the Bama backs to to have to turn their shoulders perpendicular to the LOS. Make them run sideways. Not north - south. Then force Hurts to have to throw from the pocket.
