Coach K on JRob

great kid-- where has this play been all year---he looked like a different point guard today--was it because of senior day?

He also said He thinks Pitt is an outstanding team. High praise from Coach K today after the win. I'm hoping we see Duke again in the ACC tournament.

I'm really quite cynical towards college sports, particularly in advocating for kids to get the F out of college and into the pros as quickly as possible.

But I ain't gonna lie, part of what brought me to love Pitt hoops so much was seeing kids work their way through the program and get celebrated on senior day. Great to see James continue that tradition.

I think his play has been fairly steady all season, but notice when his teammates actually play better, the PG looks better?

yea he did, if you don't see it, you are a fool.

So he looked differently today than he did against Louisville? Or Syracuse? Or against Wake when he missed a triple double by one assist?

He's been playing pretty well for a couple weeks now. I know that doesn't fit your year long narrative so you can't really admit that, but it doesn't make it any less true.

well its been a 4 year long narrative, and if he played like he did today I would have nothing to say, great game lets see if he continues!!!--- maybe its the offense he is running---Dixon opened it up today like they were playing IUP.

really--James taking it to the hoop---James driving and dishing like a point guard should or pulling up in the lane and hitting a 10 footer---not the same offense--you wrong!!!

Just more evidence that you have no idea what you are watching.

When you find yourself in a hole the first rule is to stop digging.

A much needed win, but probably the second best thing about it was sending James out a winner in his final (hopefully) game at home.

Yea. Lol. No NIT.

One more win would seal it for certainty (100%). Most likely playing for seeding now. A 7 seed or lower would be nice

Go Pitt.

It really is the same offense, the major difference is we are dominating on the offensive glass, which gives us more second shots, which makes our offense look better.

Ken pomeroy was talking about this on twitter today. The narrative on Dixon is all wrong. He is an outstanding offensive coach, I think Pitt has had only like one year in dixon's 13 as head coach where we weren't in the top 50 offensively, where we've been out of the top 50 defensively 4 of last 5 years.

I'm not going to lie. While I'd love to get a high seed. If we got an 8 in Villanova's region, I wouldn't be sad. Sending them home early would make my year. What a payback that would be for 2009.

top 50 offensively---great.
Out of 330 teams. Basically every year of his career. I'd say that's pretty good.

Being in the top 15% of all college offenses consistently for 12-13 years is great...but you didn't use the purple font so I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or you genuinely don't know what you are talking about

Lol! You are a clown!
So you love kids who put a lifetime into their sport and have little or no chance to make a living in the sport that they love. Pitt senior basketball players are longshots in the NBA.
I'd prefer kids with good character, who are at the top level in their sport, who go to the NBA
as soon as eligible and make a living in their sport.
Did you cry when they annouced tbe
seniors?

I think they are going to put an ACC and an A-10 in that regional with Nova. I think it's gonna be Syracuse/Pitt/ND with VCU, how's that for a guess?

Lol...yeah, Dixon opened it up, rather than holding them back in other games, probably only the ones we lost. Dear Moses.

I wouldn't go so far to say that it's pretty good, but it does contradict the dimwitted notion some here have that Dixon outright can't coach an offense and that he's boring.

You are such a " wanna be do gooder."!
What a PITT fan !
You want PITT guys who aren't good enough to go to the NBA early? PITT doesn't produce a large quantity of NBA players and we need more!
Most fans want a whole team of those guys! Reload and add another similar group.
Remember its college sports and the goal is WINNING! Character is important but without that they wont last at the next level.
Most of these guys aren't playing basketball as a supplement to their academics!
Good night as you go on and on with your circular rhetoric!

If being in the top 15% of all college offenses for more than a decade doesn't make you a "pretty good" offensive coach, I don't know what would. This is what Pomeroy was talking about today, people just have this image ingrained in their mind that Jamie can't coach offense, when the numbers suggest he's one of the better offensive coaches out there

Are you literate? I can still barely understand what you're trying to say, but I'm pretty sure you don't understand my position.

What exactly was circular about his logic, other than the fact that he may have typed an "o"? Also, keep track of who is liking your posts, it may lead you to rethink your position.

I really tried to make sense of his posts. I failed.

Dixon avg KenPom OE is 113.6 and avg rank is 24.8 DE is 95.1 and rank is 56

OE ranks: 25,12,25,14,12,2, 45,4, 31, 17, 19, 30, 26

DE ranks: 1,58,11,30,64,24,28,22,149,21,29,202,88

That's out of 351 teams.

So I was massively short changing Jamie. Every year in the top 50, a majority of years in the top 25, multiple top 5 years.

I'd say the numbers prove he is an excellent offensive coach.

Thank you
