From USA Today. Harbaugh first at $9M. Washington got a steal with Chris Peterson. He is one of the top 5 coaches in college football.

Why is it that Pitt is one of the only programs to never reveal their football head coach's salary?

Many of those are way off and exclude lots of compensation or in Harbaugh's case include compensation that is actually much, much lower in value.

Says he makes 2 mil per on the coaches hot seat website. Pitt does release the coach salaries with a report of the highest earners. I'd love to see Narduzzi get another bump into the 3+ mil range if we finish this season well.

Because of the University's semi-private status and their reluctance of full disclosure, as is their right. If they were a full State sponsored University, they would be bound to FOIA and transparency rules. At least, thats what I have been told in the past.

Or at least that's the reason State Farm always gave for declining to reveal Joe's compensation.

Also, Notre Dame must be hiding something. There's no way Kelly makes less than the coach at Connecticut.

Pitt releases their football coaches and basketball coaches salaries as required by their tax forms. Penn State used to argue that they were not required to do so, but I believe they have recently abandoned that stance. In any event, check their tax filings that they release each year. Unfortunately for the nebshits the data comes out well after the fact.
