Penn State is very solid in the trenches. Other than that, this game is a f###ing rugby clownfest and an early entry for the least entertaining athletic event of 2025.
That game was very entertaining. I don't know what you watched.

I swear you people complain all the time when a team doesn't throw the ball 90 times a game to mediocre WR who only look like stars because the defense cannot play defense anymore.

I mean, that coment was made in the first half when it was ND's offensive line collapsing every play and Allar sucking up the joint. The first half was awful football. I love the Monday Morning Quarterbacks who are too so starving to be right that come in firing from the hip with no ability to take context into account. The first half sucked.

No it didn't. I hate penn State but I can give the devil it's due. Both of Penn States lines came out firing on all cylinders. That was great football by those linemen. As a person who hates PSU and is ok with ND, I am thankful that PSU put the ball in Allar hands as much as they did. If Franklin and the OC were smart Allar would have thrown only a handful of passes that 1st half.

Well, it didn't strike me as the irresistible force vs the immovable object. I've watched enough Steelers Ravens games to know what that looks like.

This was more like the soggy bag of ccoffee grounds vs the rotted banana peel. I'd be pissed if either of those guys were Pitt's quarterback next season.

I was dozing off for most of it, but the second half seemed much better. The quarterbacks, however, still sucked. Some of those balls Allar was lobbing into the end zone and getting bailed out with a pass interference call... just wow. No idea how you make those throws. And I think Leonard's arm is made out of saltwater taffy.

Or maybe games are 60 minutes , so hot takes always looks stupid mid game ?

Yeah, this isn't what a hot take is. This was me watching a shitty game and saying, "Hey, I'm watching a shitty game." If you like watching offensive linemen rolling around on the ground like they're on fire while quarterbacks throw Pop Warner difficulty level passes at guys' knees, this was the first half for you.

If you were only arguing that both QBs sucked, no arguments from me. But the linemen and RBs came to play imo.

I'm not someone who needs to watch 48-45 aerial shootouts to be entertained, but yes - both of those quarterbacks suck; neither team has much of anything at wide receiver; and Notre Dame's offensive line - particularly with backups - wasn't much to write home about either. Especially if they would have been more stringent with calling holding.

The entertainment value seemed to pick up a bit in the second half (I missed most of it), but that first half was a bad football-laden lull, in my opinion.

I only watched the 4th quarter
I suggest next time - change the channel rather than posting about it

damn really? I thought it was extremely entertaining. i like football when defenses existed though, not these high scoring track meets that is today's football, especially in college.

just my preference,

I don't mind low-scoring games, but the first half was not good football. It was ND's o line getting redheaded stepchild treatment while Allar missed tosses into the giant Dr. Pepper can all over the field.
