I happened to be watching the KDKA sports with Bob Pompeani when Therran Coleman made his announcement. It was scary as heck as I was really dreading seeing another baffling decision by a local talent -- such as him going with Gibson and the Eers. But out came the PITT cap!

Did anyone hear the announcer right before the commercial saying “when we come back we will hear from the #1 recruit in the state and his college decision”? I thought Hamlin or Sanders were going to announce. Happy to get Coleman but that peaked my interest.
Just watched Coleman's Hudl highlights from last year, and it's clear he will fit Pitt's new D well. He's physical, both in jamming guys at the line and hitting guys with the ball, which is obviously a big point of emphasis with the CB's in our new defense. His athleticism looks good-not-great. He had some nice fake tosses, option decisions under stress, and jukes while taking off as the QB -- could add value in special situations on offense with a wildcat package or on trick plays.
wow... great job getting this kid to come to our school. I didnt think we had a chance 6 months ago.
