They won a big game tonight, but can’t say I am impressed with their athletes or their play.

They are 17-3 and the MWC has some good teams. Roddy is a really good player.
Not arguing with any of that.
Did you think their team had athletes? maybe the opposition accounted for that?
Did you think they looked good and played well? (And I know it was a big win))
The last time they played them, Colo St lost by 30? That is some bounce back.
They do not have great athletes, but they have a good basketball team. It is Colorado St, so they aren’t going to land big recruits. Most of their guys are 2-3 star recruits. They run nice sets. Their guys are moving on offense, setting screens, cutting, and moving the ball. They mix things up on the defensive end. Those are all things that point to good coaching. Winning games when you have equal or lesser talent is a good sign when evaluating a coach.
I haven't watched 1 second of Colorado State but I would imagine Nico Medved is the #1 high major/MM candidate, meaning he will choose where he goes and it wont be us. He'll go somewhere like Alabama if they lose Oats to Louisville.
The guy is a very good college basketball player and the exact type of guy we should be recruiting. He was the #408 recruit in the country. Some coaches got scared away because he didn’t look the part or he might play football instead of basketball even though he always wanted to play D1 basketball.
People get too enamored with the JJ Moore’s of the world. The next Pitt coach needs to recruit good basketball players that might not fit the prototype. Fields, Lett, Zavackas, Troutman, Patterson, Jaron Brown, Knight, Gray, etc. weren’t great athletes, but good basketball players.

They are well coached and would easily beat Pitt (but that’s not saying much). The PG is quick and athletic. Roddy (made a post about him a while back) is the biggest mismatch in college BB. He’s prob about 6’5” but he’s 260. He literally plays all 5 positions for them. Put a big on him and he takes him outside to hit 3’s or blows by them. Put someone smaller and he over powers them inside. He is super efficient and stuffs the stat sheets. 19 PTs, 8 RB, 3 assists, 1 block while shooting 57% and 47% from 3.
