I am hardwired, I think, to be a skeptic whenever someone starts "conspiracy" talk about just about anything. I think Oswald acted alone, I think we did land men on the moon, I think TWA flight 800 blew up without being shot by a missile, and I believe 911 happened just as the government has described.

But I sometimes look at the headlines in the PPG and have to wonder.

This morning's healdlines online: WVU falls to Baylor 62-38; #1 Ohio State downs Penn State; Pitt edges GT 31-28 with record field goal. These are all technically correct. No disagreement.

BUT - If we give up 62 and lose to someone by 24, would the game be described as "falls to", or would it described as "crushes Pitt ", or "flattens", or "runs wild over"? Similarly with the PSU headline - "downs". "Downs"? They lost by 28. If we lose by 28, we're not described as being "downed". We've been "annihilated" or worse.

Now I'm not truly ticked about this. We won and I'm deliriously happy today. I admit it's a bit petty. But I do sort of have to shake my head and wonder sometimes.
