Remember that team? Were picked 14th (BC last). AD told Pastner they might not win an ACC game so they scheduled a D2 game mid-Feb? They ended up on the NCAA bubble and made an NIT run.
I am not saying this team will do that but there are some similarities.
That team had 4 players really. It had a frosh playing way better than anyone expected (Josh Okogie who was 2 and out to the NBA). Although different positions, Xavier Johnson fits this. It had a solid PG in Todric Jackson, and a strict shooter (Quinton Stephens/JWF). Most importantly, it had what we dont have, an inside presence. That Australian big massively improved to become one of the best 5s in the ACC.
Anyway, that teak struggled in OOC which we didnt then pulled a WTF game upsetting North Carolina in Atlanta in the first ACC game, which also happened to be a Saturday noon Raycom game. Just saying.
