Calling on Crazy Paco for some help...

A few years back there was a thread putting the lie to one of PSU's biggest false claims: That there are as many (or more) PSU grads in Allegheny County as there are Pitt grads.

I believe the data you showed had 6 Pitt grads for every 1 PSUer in Allegheny County... and even as you go out concentrically (Butler, Westmoreland, Beaver, Washington, etc.) Pitt still has more grads.

CP, anyone else have those stats handy???

This same topic rears its ugly head every year, so it's time to blow it up now, before it gets worse.

The myth that the Nits have more alumni in Allegheny County than Pitt was started when some Nit with bad reading comprehension and an axe to grind mis-interpreted what was really written.

The reality is this: of the 67 counties in PA, there are more UPS alums who live in Allegheny County than any other county. Period. This stat has nothing whatsoever to do with Pitt.

But there are more....waaaay more Pitt alumni in Allegheny County than Nit alumni.

Nit revisionists like to make-up stuff when they're desperate to make a point - even when their point is nonsense.

I researched it, and the figures that I found for 2015 were:

**Pitt Alumni living in Allegheny County: 74,800 (gotten from Pitt's website)
*UPS Alumni living in Allegheny County: 28,381 (gotten from UPS Alumni Asso. website)

Trib is really getting desperate. Trolling Walsh and telling people Trib has better coverage than kdka. The gravy train is over without Scaife

You know the old saying: "Misery loves company". Right now, there is no more miserable fan base anywhere than the nits. They just got blown out by Temple. Their QB was sacked 10 times behind what is apparently another sieve of an OL. Their best LB, Wartman (replaced Hull this year) is out for the season. And they have to listen to Mr. Jimmy's horse manure excuses.

So they are going to try to make Pitt fans miserable by trolling and agitating. They should either be laughed at or ignored. Plus, with their Little Sisters of the Poor OOC stretch continuing for the next several weeks, nobody with any knowledge of CFB is going to give them any respect even if they manage to win. So they are down in the dumps and want Pitt fans to feel as crappy as they do.

It's because for some strange reason PSU fans wear 2 or three Penn State things at the same time where the Pitt people have one. It's weird and I'm serious about this. Most Pitt fans have one Pitt decal on their back car window where Penn State people have a paw with the wrong amount of toes, a 409 sticker and then the Nittany Lion Head. They wear a PSU hat, PSU sweatshirt and PSU shorts. It's just really odd. It just has the appearance of more people because the display of their clothing is multiplied.

Pitt people seem to strike the correct balance.

I also noticed Saturday almost every single Pitt fan was wearing something for Pitt. This may sound like an odd observation but I didn't see one Steeler hat. The adoption of the new Pitt Script was pretty remarkable Saturday with such a short period of sales.

Yes, almost 2 times as many Pitt alums in Allegheny Co. and the surrounding counties. Thise numbers are easily found on the 2 university alumni factbooks. WVU even has one with far fewer numbers.

PSU fans are so dumb that they turn the factual statement of "there are more PSU grads in Allegheny Co. than any county in the nation" into the fabricated statement of "there are more PSU alums in Allegheny Co. than Pitt alums."

Back in the 1970s and 1980s, Joe Paterno used to come to Three Rivers Stadium for a Luncheon before Pitt-Penn State Games on the Friday before the Saturday's Game. I used to be invited by my Penn State Friends and it was always a joy to hear Joe and even talk to him at the Luncheon and ask him questions.

At that time, he had the Penn State Public Relations Machine at full throttle and would give speeches how much Western Pennsylvania was Penn State territory and everyone bought into it including the Media too stupid to research it. Over time that perception became a miss-fact used by many Penn State Fans just like when they claim they ran a clean program and graduated 100% of their players that was never true in any year at Penn State under Paterno?

Joe was great at promoting and making his Program look pristine while covering up and threatening Media that would report on its warts and players cover scandals, and this all came out after the investigations showing under Paterno Penn State was not following the NCAA Rules, Clary/Title IX, and Laws they now foolow today?

Additionally, when Penn State won the National Title in 1982, Penn State Football held a Celebration Dinner at the Hilton that could sit 1,00 and that was sold out and I was invited to that too, and it was a great event. So, give Penn State Public Relations Machine its due, but it was built on cover ups and lies too, that the Media seldom corrects!

Yet, in today's social media that can be corrected in an instant!

The one thing I always liked about Dave Wannstedt was how he repaired and restored the High School Coaching relationships built by Pitt under Majors and Sherrill using his NFL Experiences and Connections. It was Coach Dave & Staff that went right to Penn State Heartland and New Jersey and grabbed some great Recruits right under them.

Graham and Chryst let those relationships waste away just Harris seldom develop them, in my opinion and Coach Narduzzi & staff has to reestablish them, in my opinion.

Pitt has a tough time right now recruiting against 10+ Win Michigan State & Ohio State, and then the Financial Resources and Personalities of Michigan's Harbaugh and Penn State's Franklin and Edsall at Big Ten Maryland and even Rutgers are much tougher to compete and acquire recruits from right now for Pitt Narduzzi & Staff!

Whatever anyone says, I am sorry, but one cannot coach up an entire Team of 2 and 3 Stars and compete every game on a high level. Pitt has to grab some 4 and 5 Star Recruits just like they have Boyd, Voytik, Holtz, Johnson, Whitehead right now!

MSU's DAntonio that won at UCincy and then rebuilt MSU always still grabbed a few 4 & 5 Star recruits and coached up much of the rest 2 and 3 star recruits.....but now is and has been recruiting in the Top 30, Top 25 and now Top 10!

Pitt still needs the Heavy Horses to lead and mix among the Colts and I really love Temple's Head Coach Matt Ruhle on how he Recruits and coaches his own Players up too!

The simple fact remains Coach Pat & Staff has to maintain the Pitt Offense and rebuild the Pitt Defense, Special Teams and renew Pitt Connections on all aspects of recruiting, High School Clinic Coaching, and with Maryland, Rutgers, BC, Cuse, WVU, along with UM, OSU, PSU, and MSU all in Power Conferences Pitt challenge is greater than ever!

3-to-1, not 6. 2-to-1 for the seven county Pittsburgh MSA.

Alumni data are always available in the schools' respective Fact Books. Just google "[School] Fact Book" or, for admission information, google "[School] Common Data Set."

That said, here are the numbers for 2014 for the 7 county Pittsburgh metro statistical area (Pitt has not yet released 2015 numbers so 2014 is the only direct comparison). Campus locations are in parentheses. I've included the numbers that WVU had since they own the Western PA market.

Allegheny (Pitt main and Pedo-Greater Allegheny)
PITT: 88,620 (3.2X pedos)
Pedorapers: 27,983
WVU: 4,688

Dear Sir Craziness:

Indebted for the instruction and the great information... and your fiercely burning rage against the state university. Any thinking person should be embittered that they've skated from the crimes committed there... but I hold out hope that trials of the 3 Stooges and the on-going Cleary investigations will yield insight and indictments.

I don't know if I'd call it rage. I'd call it disgust. Horrified disgust.

I'd agree with that. Its gotten so bad that any time I see someone with PSU gear on, I am disgusted that that person could root for a program that covered up child rape. To think that if Paterno, if ANYBODY would have just gone to the police, little boys wouldnt have been raped. The cover-up was almost as bad as the raping. They could have stopped it but wanted to protect their program. Should have gotten the death penalty but instead got a lighter sentence than USC for getting Reggie Bush a house.

I know there are a lot of good people who are PSU fans but it still sickens me. For me, that program stands up FOR child rape and I dont think I can ever forget that. Everyone else has though.

Seriously... about any any university would have closed their own doors on the football program.

Anyways, great stats and just backs up what we already knew to be true.

Now... Pittsburgh newspapers... give us 3 times as much Pitt coverage then the pedorapers
