Was at the game yesterday, and while higher scoring than I expected, it played out about the way I expected. Was concerned, for good reason, with PSU's ability to control Pitt's run game, but also thought we'd be able to move the ball through the air. Needless to say, both of these items played out. I fully expect Pitt to make a nice run in the ACC. Great environment yesterday, and treated better than expected at game. I'm hopeful this game gets scheduled every year, cause it's great for both fan bases and for football in this region of country. Already looking forward to next year's match-up.

Game played out as I thought also, and, like you, never would have guessed score that high. The game is a true rivalry, despite PSU fans and players saying otherwise. The passion of the fans for the game and the excitement before and during the game, was a telling sign of the rivalry. I hope too, that the game will be played beyond presently scheduled.

I had expected a 19-17 type game of evenly flawed teams - so I was shocked by the number of points scored.

I credit the Penn State players for their determined effort after being down a couple of scores.

Personally, I was glad I didn't hear any of the "We Are" chant. If it was done, I missed it. You may disagree, but I think some humility on the part of PSU fans will go a long way to helping repair their image.

Go Pitt.

I was impressed by the behavior of the PSU fans around me. They cheered just as I would but showed enough respect for being in our stadium to make it pleasant. The fourth quarter got a bit more chippy until the end. I didn't hear anything that I would say was disrespectful. great game and a truly wonderful afternoon of being part of college football. The Pitt win was just icing on the cake.

It was truly a fun game to watch. The ending left me with a sour taste in my mouth, but it was a fun game. PSU nearly pulled it out and that last pass by McSorley was ridiculous. I hope that wasn't called by the coaches. I expected a pass underneath with still about 2 minutes to play. Oh well, we were picked to lose and we played in Pittsburgh. Losing by three was pretty much what everyone said that it was going to be a tight match up. That being said, PSU played that game with only 12 seniors and fifty-one freshman and sophomores on the roster. I guess we'll catch you next year at our house for the revenge.

You should position your AD to get this game scheduled every year. There is more money to be had by scheduling a home MAC team vs. a home and home with Pitt, but that assumes you can sell season tickets that way. It appears that is no longer the case for PSU. Having Pitt on their home schedule will sell more season tickets and should make up for the loss of the of a home game every year. Even if the money doesn't work quite work out that way, tell your AD that its not ALL about the money. Fans need to have their needs met, or they won't buy tickets.

Had a great time at the game yesterday, thanks for your hospitality. The bad thing about the schedule is, I think its already setup through 2025, unless we drop some teams. It was definately a good scene yesterday.

I thought both fan bases made a real effort to be civil. Sure, there were some T-shirts (Joe Knew, Shitt on Pitt, etc.), but I figure if you get in a tizzy because of a T-shirt, the problem is more with you than with the kid wearing the shirt. I did not see anything resembling an altercation, nor did I hear any offensive chants Best game atmosphere at Pitt in years.

As stated many time, you will find that the Best & Brightest Penn State Alumni are way better in person and far more in numbers than some that Post on Blogs. Also, the BWI Posters have much passion and McAndrew's does his best as Chris Peak does with Pitt Posters.

I have no problem with Passion, Bravado, and Banter on BWI and although they may not like losing as Pitt Fans feel the same, they are an OK Guys & Gals and much informed on FB, just not on Pitt!

The Game brought out the Best of Pitt & Penn State and will do it the next 3 years too.

Both Programs have a way to go to regular Top 25 Winning, but at least we can do it together for the next 3 years!

Pitt Fans proved that they can enjoy the game and so did Penn State Fans. Both Lion & Panther Prides showed how to behave and enjoy a great game.

The Death Warnings and Safe Numbers put on BWI by Pnnyliar and Goodnap were Chicken Little's and rejected by both Fan Bases. Only they or both being one are disappointed just like Iran & North Korea always being threatening and then looking Stupid when America & World ignores them, and then spanked.

The Best PSU & PITT Fans know the Historic Series are better together, and far from common people they have much Lion & Panther Pride!

Well said
The Truth about both Universities & Programs & Alumni Fans was always said by their actions and deeds and both Players gave it their all! Back at you and all PSU Fans Worldwide known and earned as the Best & Largest Alumni Association Supporters Worldwide!

This game by the way it was played by Players and being so close actually brought more PITT and PSU Fans together and showed there is no fear to play more Games in the future!

In the future, when the NCS Playoffs go to 6 to 8 Spots and Power Conference Champions become NCS Automatic berths, the bottom line if Pitt, PSU, and WVU played every year and win or lose won't matter whatsoever, because all 3 could go 12-1 and get into the NCS Playoffs and play again.

If because Pitt is 12-1, PSU is 12-1, and WVU is 11-2 as OOC Games won't matter so long as they win the ACC, B10, and B12! If that can happen every year because all would be Top Five or Top Ten Teams, why wouldn't Fans want to play each other then, and enjoy a second game in the NCS Playoffs!

Because they are OOC games there is no downsize in playing each other?

That was a classy post. and the posters on here responded in kind. It is unfortunate for sensible PSU fans and grads that the University has been hijacked by the likes of pnnylion and his band of Joebot morons that dominate BWI. Until the crazies die off or get shouted down by the sensible grads and fans of PSU, the rest of the rest of the country is always going to view PSU in a negative light. That is unfortunate for the quality grads and fans who don't deserve to get lumped in with bottom feeders like pnnylion or Todd Brewster/francofan.

Ditto..........

The 4th and 16 was something we had to stop and would have made a significant improvement to how that game was perceived for Pitt fans imo

State fans were good visitors and that team is going to be a good one soon. Franklin may have won that game had he not chosen to follow the arrogance many have to downplay the game as not a rivalry.

State found out very early they were in a game where the opponent felt it to be an important one. To his credit Frankie made good adjustments in the second half but at the end of the day ......Pitt Won

Sb played every year

Hail to Pitt

It's nice to have legitimate discussions on the football game with opposing fans without all the smack nonsense.

For any Penn State posters who have never been to Pittsburgh or Heinz Field, what were your thoughts/impressions of the venue/location for a football game ( Heinz Field, Tailgating, Hotels, Restaurants, Casino,Bars etc.)

Was the game day atmosphere/experience what you expected (Better or Worse) prior to coming to Pittsburgh.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

On the Lair one can speak there mind without being accused of undermining the Program or University so true Football discussions can take place with no offense taken.

When someone does say something and another asked them to back it up, or be more specific, the other will think it through and admit they error, or did not see this or that, and can see that point now, or say, thanks I was wrong and correcting me, or agree to disagree.

There are seldom Troll Alerts, You Just ate Penn State, Your School is Filth, all PnyyLion & his many name changes since he gets bans everywhere and Michigan traced his long ago making threats about on Posters. Even the Best & Brightest Posters on BWI can't discuss FB without having their families and names attacked by such DC's!

At Old Main, they aware of the some Fan holdovers that can't accept changes put on the football program to end the prior Culture and have a code name for them, when many emails and phone calls all of sudden happen now.

They call them CD's with a wink....meaning Cult Dolts, I am told by some PSU Lawyers! They want them to come to games and spend money but will be ignored otherwise when they make demands and go bonkers. They told me it allows them to blow off steam and think they did some great, but nothing is going to change Athletic Integrity Reform Policies put in place to prevent Penn State from ever getting Sanctions again. They grow smaller everyday as no one is listening as New Social Media Students start to take over as seen on Onward State, Collegian, and among Student-Alumni Associations.

On the Lair and elsewhere, the Monitors know when Posters cross the line and some things get taken down, moved or a Poster will ask why or complain and Monitors reconsider but it comes to end somehow with respect, not a diatribe of volatile attacks on Coaches, Players, and Universities.

The Lair have Cats Fights with clawing and calling too, but always return to good Football Information being shared by the Best & Brightest on the Lair to learn just like Cathy Lights are Educational Lanterns Beacons shining bright to help people learn from education posts. Banter is acceptable too.

Unlike, condemnation vitriolic voices attacking many everywhere as seen elsewhere East of Pitt that has earned less respect from many good football posters. Banning happens there at the expense of learning, but still respect the passion of all Penn State Fans that act here on the Lair with class and defense of PSU and challenges as they should.

All put up with some bravado banter and take it good nature. It drives the CD's crazy too and that is the best part of it?
