Now for the bad news - if they win their first game against Seton Hall, they get to play UCONN.

Could have been worse. RMU gets to play UCONN right off the bat.

So much for the local women's teams in the tourney...

But the Dukes had a heck of a year - good for them.

Go Pitt.

If women's hoops is ever going to get any traction locally, now is the time. Duquesne has become very good, Suzie is going to get Pitt there, and Bobby Mo has had a nice low major program for a while now. Could Pitt, and the Dukes get together and bring in a couple of nice teams for a doubleheader at the Pete? Maybe the Nits, and the Hoopies?

Maybe they could, but if you were Duquesne why would you rather play the nits or the hoopies at the Pete rather than at home? I don't know if they played this year, but Duquesne and the Hoopies have played a long term home and home series.

On the other hand, Pitt used to play the nitters every year home and home as well. And then Pitt got good a while ago and the nits ran away and never came back. SM-S would love to play the nits. They have shown absolutely no interest at all in playing Pitt since the team got good when Agnus Beranato was the coach.

The Nits used to be a power in women's hoops, but they've really been a non factor since Rene Portland got forced out. Got to love it!
