Conner: Ultimate Herbie Award

You beat me too it. Watched the show last night. It was the last award and James conner wok over fournette of LSU and Watson of Clemson.

My apologies to the other REALLY good backs Pitt had this year but James has to be the man. Possibly Heisman I think

I didnt watch all, but was mildly upset Whitehead didnt get at least a nod. He is a man among boys out there.

After this year, I think he'll turn even more heads. If the DL improves, he is going to make an even larger impact in the secondary. Same can be said with Conner back in on offense. Imagine running plays with Whitehead and Conner in the same backfield with one of the beast FB making room behind our OL!

Sounds like a dream. Sure wish we had Tyler Boyd another year to stretch the defenses. I still think we will be good without a passing game, but sure is nice to have one.

Looks like the DL is shaping up better than last year too. Remember all the glaring needs we had this year at this time. Price came through like a champ, but the DL at this time last year was our biggest area of worry. DT is a slight concern, but we have the horses there at least.

There is definitely some young talent along the DL that will be relied upon. I'm hoping Camp and Watts can provide some energy and be disruptive. With a healthy Price and Hendrix (I know he hasn't taken a snap in a PITT uniform) at the DE positions, this line could be pretty solid this year.

I'm not going to give up on the passing game just yet. There are some guys who can make an impact at the wideout position. There are no Tyler Boyd's suiting up, but I think Ford, Q, Orndoff (TE), etc. can provide a threat in the passing game. Orndoff was excellent when provided with the opportunity to catch a pass last year.

Great recognition for this young man: http://www.espn.com/video/clip?id=17386349

Can't wait to see Conner runner through and around would-be tacklers this season!
I have been thinking about this since his condition was made public. If this young man comes out of the shute like the 2014 James Conner he will quickly get into the Heisman conversation.

The national press is obviously very aware of James's story and starting quickly will make a deep impression all over the country.

From your fingers to God's ears my friend

Expecting huge things from the running game this season. Not sure Conner's gonna be where he was going into last season but he'll get there. Can't wait to see Ollison improved in the off season as well.
