Trying to hang on to some hope here.
Lets say Pitt wants Miller and Miller wants Pitt and the deal is all but done. This would be a career-defining moment for Lyke for better or worse. Wouldn't it be smart for her career-wise to leak out that Miller is a possibility (which was met by overwhelming positivity) then, just to be sure, she leaks out that they there was a breakdown (red flags popped up) to see fan/booster reaction.
Why do this?
If fans go into panic mode. "Who cares about red flags, get him here now, we are 0-19 with no players, what's the worst that could happen?" it makes her case stronger for keeping her job or interviewing for a new job if Miller gets FBI'd or show-caused. She can say she basically had no choice. The fans picked the coach and didn't care about the repurcussions.
Or
We coulda said, "OK, they did their due diligence and he's probably got something coming to him so we dont want him." Then she could put the Miller to Pitt thing to rest forever and get fans/boosters focused on something else.
So maybe this is all posturing? Maybe? Please tell me it is, I cant to another week or 2 of this
