I rarely listen to the Cook & "Poni" show on 93.7because of their generally known anti-Pitt bias but did want to listen these past few days in light of the Boyd matter. Just as I suspected they are giving it a lot of air time and as usual the subtle anti-Pitt bias is all over their infatuation with it.

The thing to do is set up a sting operation of those coming out of the Rhythm grille Cook calls home and give all of their customers a taste of Northern Regional Polic force efficiency.

I was thinking the same thing. After they did a segment on the Boyd situation with Sam Werner where Poni also basically dismissed this, Cook had to add that he was not done with this, and he didn't think it was a minor issue and wanted to continue. He went on to nail Boyd by saying since he was a star athlete, he gets perks and fame, now that he is getting not so good publicity, he wants people to leave it alone. Well Ron, you certainly are quick to pile on a Pitt guy. But what bothers me most, is Cook just is reading "DUI" and not listening to "it was not a 0.08 BAC" meaning likely he was not impaired.

And I was thinking, Cook, how many times have you left Jergels over an 0.08? Hypocrite.

Bingo! That place is tucked away but 19 is a stones throw away...I would not want to be Wrong Cook if he gets pulled over.
I may go there and buy the misreable SOB drinks myself!!

When Jason Cabinda of PSU was arrested on a DUI for Franklin last year (convicted) there was no Pittsburgh coverage in the media... only one mention of how he is a very nice guy and should get a second chance on black shoe diaries (seriously... google it).
And, Mr. Cabinda did not get suspended, and played in every game last year.

The difference is.....Jason Cabinda is a jabrone, and Tyler Boyd is an All American and Heisman candidate. But your point is noted, we can cover how wonderful PSU players are with constant fluff articles in Pittsburgh, but then wratchet up the heat on Pitt players when they jaywalk. What Pitt needs to do, and I am serious on this, is not allow the media to influence what is best for the football program. Why? Because no other college program does.
