Those guys are feast or famine. I was shocked when I saw a stat that Malachi was one of the leaders in ACC games, shooting 47% from 3.

Pitt is allowing a mind-numbing 42% from 3 in ACC games. If Cooney and Malachi go off, we have no chance. If they have bad nights, we can win. The bad news is they will be wide open on almost every attempt so we will have little to do with whether their shots go in or out.

That plus they're expecting a measly 28k there today---so if those two get off early it'll be tough

Hopefully they settle for taking 3s-much lower shot % than our front-line defense allows. The front-line cannot give up as many layups and dunks as they have been for the past few games. The more video the other teams see of our porous front line defense, the more likely they are to exploit it. And our front-line needs to attack the rim more on offense instead of going up passively and having their shots blocked, or settling for jump shots.

I think our only chance is if Syracuse has bad shooting night, something no ACC team has had against us.

I do not expect syracuse to shoot poorly. But, this game will not be about our defense,it is what it is.

Pitt matches up well with Cuse because they play zone. If they played aggressive man to man defense like louisville or like Carolina played against us, with superior athletes we would have no chance. A zone in general, is a read and react defense, it gives our panthers room to breath and the chance to get an open shot.

Today will be about our offense and more importantly, will Jamel artis show up? He is our guy to exploit the zone. He has been MIA for a while. If he is MIA today it could get really ugly. To do well today, we will have to resemble the team we were early inthe ACC season. I don't know if it can happen, but I give us a shot because they play zone!

Agree with you for sure. Our streak of winning when scoring 70+ may end today. I hope chris jones is hot from 3 land again. I too, would like to see Smith get going but I am not holding my breath until that happens. We definitely need our guards to play big and score alot. Maybe even Jeter could be good today, he has been tough on Syracuse the last few games. At this point, I am just hoping we come to play today and not to whine and pout if we start out slowly!
