Wow. Did the elevated court (which I never understood) cost UNC a Natty? This angle shows the wood buckling
 
He hurt his leg the game before against Duke while under the basket, correct? He looked like he was hobbling at the beginning of the game against Kansas, too.
 
Still not nearly as bad as what The Undertaker did to Kane

I'm guessing because they can't put it directly on the playing field. Probably wouldn't be good for the turf/grass and would affect the bounce of the ball. Just my random guess.
I've always wondered why they elevated it so much. My guess was to make the viewing better for spectators?

Sight lines in domes I'd imagine. The seats have a much lower pitch and the people in the lower rows probably wouldn't be able to see much otherwise.
