If Narduzzi was the coach back when these kids were seniors in high school & landed these 4 kids with Whitehead what would Pitt have competed for an ACC title & even maybe a spot in the final 4?

I hate when people misinterpret the notion that you cant build a championship-level team with WPIAL recruits. Yes, you cant do it with ONLY WPIAL players, but nobody ever says we should ONLY get WPIAL players. Pitt needs to land 70% of the WPIAL kids we offer. Last year, we did. This year it was only 10%.
If Pitt gets 70% of the top WPIAL players and we go into FL, NJ, OH, etc for some players, that's how you build a championship roster.
As the OP mentioned, we are in the CFP if we had that WPIAL defensive backfield.
I don't know why people do this to themselves? Any school can play this game and it always has the same ending: it doesn't matter.
How good would we have been back in the 90s had we gotten Lavar Arrington? Who the hell knows? Better though.
How much better would Wannstedt's teams have been with Pryor? Not sure? Better though.
Even in this recruiting class, with Narduzzi on hand, we've lost out on all kinds of good players in the area. Are we going to spend the next five years crying and moaning about our fate and fantasizing about what it would have been like if they were at Pitt instead of Michigan or Notre Dame or Penn State?
