Smart move by Crean. Georgia is now desperate and Heather will never hire a coach with an uneven personality like his.
However, Crean is a perfect fit in the Harbaugh family, I must admit!

Yeah. We wait for Hurley we run the risk of losing both. Assuming we want them. Tough call for Lyke unless she has a "deal" through Fogler.
In a cruel twist of fate, Rhode Island wins today and I won't be surprised if we lose Crean, while we wait, and Hurley says no.

You can call it whatever you want, but if he isn't the HC at Pitt, it is because he said no to us.
They should really know whether they have a legitimate chance with Hurley, already. Maybe not 100%, but like 75-80% he is going to take the job. Money, contract, staff, etc should already be decided.
So if rhode island lost Hurley says yes?

If Hurley is the guy it should be all but concluded except for Hurley resigning from URI and accepting.

Crean to Georgia and Hurley to UConn which is a perfect job for him. Remember his wife doesn't want to leave the area and CT is still in the area.
Let's get back to real-ville. Matta seems out, Crean probably GA, and Hurley probably to UConn so back to the drawing board.
IMO we'll get a really good coach on his way up and not the established big time guy that many posters think we're getting.
Managing expectations is really important for PITT to make this effort a complete success!

Lyke has a budget, KS created a toxic waste zone around PITT basketball, some people won't come near the place so its important that Lyke find the right person for the right price!
It's also important that she provide some guidance as to where the search is headed not details just directional info.

I don't think their wins in the NCAAT have anything to do with it, but if they make the sweet 16 we may miss on other candidates waiting on Hurley.
You missed his point. It wasn't that the tourney has an effect on Hurley saying yes or no. He was saying if Hurley lost today, we'd get an answer quicker, and if he says No, we can move on quicker, and not risk losing out on other candidates
