If this team doesn’t significantly elevate their play relative to how they played today you can forget about the dance

The Achilles heal continues to be lazy defense and being so soft on the boards. And quite honestly that’s been a problem even when they were winning

This team is just so incredibly weak/soft. Gotta wonder what they do with their S n C program. Cohern and all the bigs have zero lower body strength and get rooted out under neath the hoop.

Their only hope is if they catch fire from three and win three point shooting contests.

Brings road record to 3-3 and road neutral to 4-4, but avoiding Q3 loss is more valuable. But UNC and @Wake could put them at 13-8 this time next week. Squarely on the bubble. Not a lot of time to correct…

I guess winning ugly is better than losing looking good. But I was more optimistic after the Clemson game. Tbeir defense and rebounding. Was really good in the second half and Conern looked like he had a pulse

I feel like there are spurts (usually in the second half and usually just in “spurts”) where we play tougher and scrappier. Saw that a little today. So it’s in there somewhere

True. I see they can play decent defense and with some energy. When they do, they magically take a lead and build on it. Then after about 4 or 5 minutes of that, they go back to their norm with soft, lazy defense and no rebounding. And the opponent catches up. It's like Groundhog Day every game.

Offense scored 45 in second half with no turnovers. It was the Cuse offensive boards that kept this from being a double digit win. Rebounding is 80% will and Capel needs to find that will somewhere. Lampkin had more than twice as many boards as Cam and GDG combined.

Speaking of S&C…I was sure the twins would look totally different after 2.5 years. Maybe it’s just genetics, but really thought they would pack on muscle. The height and shooting ability would be more impactful combined with a physical inside presence.

Agree - and would have still been double digits if we didn’t dig a hole early or made our FT down the stretch

Has anyone appeared to put on any significant muscle in this program under Capel?
