Everyone made so much out of it, but how many Cubs fans actually lived through this? I would guess....NONE! Cleveland's drought is now 70 years. Is that meaningless in comparison?

Pretty much if your team reaches 40, especially 50 years in a championship drought, you have now spanned generations. So alot of people felt so good for Cubs fans, but were they any more aggrieved by being championshipless than the poor Indian fans? A person who is 65 years old before last night saw neither a Cub or Indian World Series Championship.

It was nice for the Cubs fans, but the Indians fans have pretty much the same suffering.

But hey, what a great year......Cleveland ended its 52 year championship drought, the Cubs ended their 108 year championship drought. So.....those who believe in distributing wealth...a banner sports year. Well except in college football, the ultimate Darwinistic sport.

Of the eight original National League teams (from 1900-1961), guess which one now has gone the longest since its last World Series championship? Hint: It's not the Cubs, Phillies, Giants, Dodgers, Braves, Cardinals or Reds.

It's been an all or nothing sports year for me so far.

Super Bowl......Denver Broncos....sweet
Ncaab.....Villanova.....barf.....stupid piddly Catholic Big East school
Stanley Cup.....The Pens......awesome
Nba....Cleveland Cavaliers.....boo
Mlb....The Cubs.....bleech.....Indians weren't much better.

Guess the good news is, I'm neutral towards the top five ncaaf teams, save maybe Alabama.

I bet I know? Their best purchase by their owner has been ski lift chairs?

The think that stuck out to me watching some of the partying in Chicago was that it looked like the fans were all under 30 years old. They aren't "long suffering" fans. They are kids looking for am excuse to party.
