Thought we needed a break
from discussing the mess
that's Pitt Bball.

We all know that Duke,
NC, and UVA are top ACC
teamt's at the moment.
Of course it's VERY early
but a few others IMO
look decent so far. I've
seen VaTech and they
are undefeated so far.
They knocked off PSU
today by 2 pts. I know,
I know...PSU?? Yup,
PSU. They're 4-1 and
they DO have a coach.

A few other ACC teams
are undefeated. It's
very early, but I do
like Miami.

Pitt? Pretty obvious.
We're in the bottom
group with Louisville,
Cuse, and FSU. We
three all have a few
very bad losses. We
have a few cupcakes
coming up, but the
problems will still
exist IMO.

FSU has injuries, again, so that's their issue.

Miami and ND are good. NC state is better then last year.

Cuse isn't bad, boheim usually has early season losses before turning the heat up.

BC had a decent recruiting class I think. They'll be OK.

Pitt in bottom w Lville and GTech. But GTech owned Pitt last year and I'm convinced they'll do the same this year.

Yeah, good points. Like
I mentioned it's early
and FSU will undoubtedly
turn things around. The
only teams that have
looked REALLY bad are
Pitt (no surprise there),
and Louisville. Meanwhile
WF, gets a new coach and
within a few years is now
respectable, so unlike us.

PS, I hate to admit it, but
same with PSU. The nitwits
have a coach, and they're
on an upswing.

Psu is a good team. It's a shame that in Year 2 they are so far ahead of us. Penn st would beat Pitt by double digits.
PSU is very small, but they are well coached and have a bunch of guys that can score and shoot it.
They have a grad transfer from Bucknell that is a sniper.

Yes their size hurt them today. Vt won that game in the post. Psu couldn't match up. Psu has some shooters

This is what I was referring
to in the initial post
when I started this
thread. A new coach, a
few good recruits, and
they're on an upswing.
Last season he inherited
a team that lost players
to the portal, they still
looked well coached.
No prior head coaching
experience. Compared
to Capel as an assistant,
he was a nobody.

Shrewsberry wasn’t ever a head coach but he coached with Brad Stevens a long time at. Butler,
and with the Celtics, then he was at Purdue. I would be hesitant to hire someone who wasn’t a
HC also but so far he looks like he’s doing a good job.

I haven’t watched many ACC games this year. But have watched VT and Mike Young can flat out coach. He lost his star player Aluma (left early pro overseas), starting G Alleyne (transfer to UConn) and another starting G Murphy.

Despite this he brought in a skilled big to replace Aluma. And like they do every year his players improve a ton. Pedulla has to be one of the 5 most improved players in the nation. Mutts is another tough skilled guy.

Young does this without NBA talent. His guys improve, play hard and Young is a master X’s and O’s Coach.

As I said above, they
look pretty good so far
again this year. He paid
his dues at Wofford and
got them into the NCAA's
several times. He has
gotten Va Tech in also.
I like him, wish we had
him.
