What has happened to Darrin Hall and Rachid Ibrahim? Darrin got some carries early in the year and did pretty well, but I don't think he has received any in the last few games. Is he playing on special teams? As for Rachid, I don't know if he has received any carries this year, although I do think he is playing on special teams.

I guess maybe it's an embarrassment of riches at running back. With the emergence of Chawntez Moss, even Qadree Ollison is hardly getting any carries. And the riches could be even greater when Todd Sibley arrives on campus.

At this rate, I would look for at least Hall to transfer after this season. It may not be as easy for Ollison because after sitting out a year, he would only have one year of eligibility remaining. And it's too late for Ibrahim since he is already a redshirt junior.

Maybe, but weren't we down to the number four rb on the depth chart at some point last season?

Running back isn't like qb where only one person really plays. They all can get involved.

I just don't think Ibrahim is good enough. He played in the home school league here in Maryland.
I think Ibrahim is talented at RB, and has something like 7 yds per carry at Pitt. But his recovery took a long time and it hurt his chances to get a decent spot on the depth chart. And I don't know if he back to full strength now or not.

But if he is back to full strength, I would not be nervous at all to see him get into the RB rotation if we suffered a few injuries.

By the way, not every player wants to transfer if they fall in the depth chart. Ollison started the season last year as the fifth RB, and ended up being the teams leading rusher after Ibrahim went down in camp, and then Conner in game 1. Injuries are a big part of the game, and its silly for guys to too discouraged right away.

I think Ibrahim would fit in nicely at the role of french/Henderson/tipton. Jet sweep guy. At one point he seemed very elusive in open space. Personally I like tipton as possession receiver, but given Ibrahim past carries I say he could be more successful on the jet sweet stuff. Either way H2P ......there's a lot to like right now.

Side note..... I really look for Mathews to grow into a pretty darn good college receiver. Some of these guys are just "Young" or "Young" at their "new" positions.

I think Mathews is already doing a nice job, mostly as a blocker at WR, and also on special teams. The receptions will start to come next year.

Ibrahim is a long strider, he wouldn't be good for that role, Henderson, Ffrench a more quick twitch which is crucial for the jet sweeep

I don't see Hall transferring but I could see Ibrahim grad transferring to a lower level where he can play. I can see the staff having 24 scholarships to hand out in 2017.

Seriously it is pretty easy to see.

This whole thread seems like someone just trying to start trouble and all for guys to transfer
Not trying to start trouble at all. Just wondering. Now I know that Hall isn't playing because of a concussion. I wouldn't have known that if I hadn't asked the question.

Lackluster blocking and inability to catch routine swing passes are my guesses.
using Ollison on swing passes and even these sweeps is beyond idiotic.. he got over 1100 yards last year running between the tackles.. Maybe this offense and it's base jet sweep motion isn't suited for Ollison.. Actually, there is no maybe about it, it's not... He'd be foolish to stay in this program... WHo knows about hall, seems like very similar back to moss but not as good, hence the reason we don't see him..

before the year started, we all did our carries per game predictions, being right that this was going to be a run heavy offense.. So we all said JC would get 15-18, RB #2 would get 8-10 and RB# 3 and 4 would get 5+ (or something to that effect). what we completely missed was that our #3 RB would actually be a wr running the jet sweep. So there really is no carries for our #3 RB because those carries are going to Henderson and even Aston, tipton, or Whitehead..

Last year, all heck broke lose with injuries so we needed 4 RBs. this year, we have been lucky so far so really only need 2. Actually, we really are even underusing our #2.. Moss is only getting 6 carries a game..
