That's why I say its so Pitt. He checks every single box of what to look for in a mega-donor.
He wrote a check to CMU for $100+ million.

He definitely has the means to pay for a stadium, but the Pitt admin has been busy finding reason why they can't do it for almost 20 years now. There is absolutely space to build a new stadium, but Pitt admins Pitting has resulted in Pitt getting a little, and others getting a ransom.

Stadium is far from a priority.
Endowing scholarships is far more beneficial.
I know it's not a priority and have not suggested otherwise.

Because it's true. Pitt doesn't need to spend half a billion on a stadium. It'd be dereliction of duty. Ain't happening.
BTW, I was adamantly against razing Pitt Stadium because I knew we;d never have an on campus place of our own.

Pitt is and will continue to be a second (third?) fiddle type football prgroam, getting 5-7 wins every year while fans complain about PSU and WVU going to big-time bowl games, while Pitt eeaks out bowl eligibility in from of 40,000 empty yellow seats at Heinz.

dude, we went 5-7 once, we won 8 regular season games the two years before that. relax man, if we do this back to back, then lets start considering this the norm but as of now, that abortion of a year last year was the exception.

Attendance and stadium location are NOT the 2 primary reasons PITT has been a 7-8 win team over the past 20 years.
I heard he paid the stallings buyout.... not sure if it’s 100% true or not but a few people have said that
if true, I owe this great man an apology..
I am quite relaxed. Pitt has already taken the emotion out of it for me, so that certainly isn't the problem. I am now free to see things as they really are, instead of hoping for the best year after year to eternity.
