Not saying that we will/should be relegated to a play-in game; but if we are, some positives to take:
  1. A winnable first-round game played relatively close to home
  2. Maybe the best chance to win two games in the post season as we would emerge as either an 11 or 12 seed (depending on which one the NCAA chooses), and be a tough first round opponent (depending on who's the 5 or 6)
  3. National audience - only game on TV at that moment
  4. Extra post season experience for our players
I'll just focus on the positives, for a change ... I'm sure someone will chirp in with a list of negatives !!

Better than the NIT

By any realistic measure we are a team that is among the top 30- 40 teams in the country. If we get left out at least 28 or more teams worse than us get in. If that happens--shame on the selection committee!

Better than nothing? yeah Better than last years total collapse? yeah
But still see it as small time and risky and don't like it.

Except the committee does not take the best 68 teams. They take 36 at large teams after taking 32 conference champs. Now some of those 32 are among the best, but a bunch are not.
