Just read this in today's Palm Beach Post newspaper:

His top 5 schools now are: Tennessee, LSU, Pitt, KY and Syracuse. 4-star LB from St Thomas Aquinas.

Anyone familiar with him or seen tape? Rated #39 in the state, but for FL, that's like comparing a top ten recruit in PA
His offer sheet speaks for itself. If he;s good enough for Bama he's good enough for anybody.

At a position of need for us. Would love to get him

Stop believing all that media hype. Clairton has beaten top Florida schools in 7 on 7 and I believe so did Gateway in the better days. So your saying that wade (and pitt recruit Hamlin) are only a s good as a top 40 florida player. lol. WHAT A JOKE.

Here is a link to 24/7 and their rankings report for all states:

When you switch views from FL to PA, the comparison I made pretty well stands. The overall rating for Hamlin is a 4 star with a factor of .93 - and is the #3 rated player in PA. In FL, the same 4 star player with a factor of .93 is ranked #23. In FL, there are 47 4 or 5 star players; in PA there are 9.

And while none of us can ever know or predict how each of these players will perform once they leave HS and commit to a college program, the rankings system for 24/7, Rivals, Scout, et al, are somewhat predictable, or they would not exist. So please don't call "BS" to my post. When a FL HS football player is ranked inside the Top 40 in his state, it is like comparing to a PA HS football player ranked inside the Top 10 in their state.

And again, we are comparing players, not teams. Many players will stand out or outperform as an individual, even though their team may not. Kudos to Clairton for their 7 on 7 record vs FL teams. But we're recruiting players, not teams.

Florida is important to snag 3-5 players a year and Conklin can be the lead recruiter there with his history.

Agree; the nice thing about FL is that while the "big guys" ('Bama, OSU, LSU, FSU, et al) are "attacking" the FL top 25 - 30, there are plenty of players in the 30 - 60 ranking range who are really good, and who can have an impact for a program like ours.
