Per Dennis Dodd of CBSSports.com, the NCAA is going to extend the recruiting dead period through April 15 - basically making it a full year since recruits and coaches have been able to interact in person. The dead period was originally put in place on March 13 and been extended multiple times since then. As such, the class of 2021 had roughly two weeks to take official visits - March 1-13 - before things shut down, and the vast majority of the class will sign in December or February without having taken an official visit. Quite a few guys will sign without ever meeting their coaches in person.
EDIT: The class of 2021 had no opportunity to take official visits. The official visit period wasn't scheduled to start until April 1. So this class will sign with zero official visits taken.

Recruiting dead period will be extended to April 15, keeping coaches away from recruits for over a year
The recommended extension is expected to be formalized next week
