I'm no football expert, but I don't know why the defensive coordinator didn't do something different when the Pitt line and linebackers were getting wiped out every play. The blocking by the Irish was textbook, just as the plays were drawn up on the blackboard. The running backs simply had to follow the blocking. Why not try slanting by the defensive line or some other tactic to throw off the Irish blocking?
