Deivon Smith

He's the obvious replacement for Nike...

Maybe so. Don't like his 3-ball shooting % at only 26.1% though. Nike shot 0.347 last season on 3-balls. An awful FT shooter last season at only 44.8% (13 for 29)

The other guy offered, Taylor from Marshall shot 0.364 on 3-balls.

Maybe they land both of these guys to fill the two open slots. They need a 3-ball shooter to replace the Greg Elliot threat. Maybe Taylor fits that need since the GA Tech guy seems to not to.

I actually commented on him a few times while watching GT last year. No thank you.

Its an ok add. There is a quite a bit of Cameron Wright here.

Great rebounding especially on defense, great assist to turnover ratio, ORTG just under 100 which is ok for a depth piece and much better than a Nate Santos type off the bench, some scoring ability with dribble penetration and midrange game. Explosive athletic ability. Has dealt with a lot of injuries the last 2 years and missed a lot of games and playing time because of it. He had 2 ankle injuries to both ankles this season which forced him to sit the rest of the season and really kept him out of some games with low minute totals. Would be better suited playing in a faster offense to get his transition game going.

This type of player could / would work with Hinson on the floor and with Carrington instantly being a shot maker at the 3.

Agree with almost everything you said (except the way off Cam Wright comparision)

Their ORTG offensive power rating is very similar. Neither player can shoot the 3 at all and neither player can shoot free throws well. They both are highly athletic, they both have good assist to turnover ratios and they both have assist rates over 20. Smith is way better on the glass, Wright better with steals. Smith had a TS shooting percent of 43 as a junior. Wright had a 47 TS true shooting percentage as a redshirt senior. Wright goes to the line more and scores more from midrange, Smith scores more in the interior.

Smith is a blur. Smith beats his man off the dribble. Smith handles and does things with the ball. Smith is way quicker and way more athletic. Smith finishes the break.

Their stats may end up being the same, but they don't look or play anything alike.

Not seeing Cam Wright in this video

Reread what I wrote above. It says " There is quite a bit of Cameron Wright here" . And then I went on to talk about stats. And the only thing I compared was athletic ability, not their actual games.

And Cameron Wright had a vertical in the high 30s.

And here is a dunk of him in high school putting the ball between his legs in the air with ease. And Wright was also our top defender on defense on those Pitt teams back then. He also played on multiple NCAA Tournament teams.

I always thought Cam would of been an NFL level DB if he played football.
