Odd to me that Holgorsen isn't in worse shape. WVU is supposedly throttling Pitt in recruiting and they haven't really gotten over the hump down there. Not that things are awful. The bowl game and the Alabama game were impressive. Just seems like I hear more grumbling than what is openly acknowledged. Just my impression though.

I really think with Narduzzi WVU's run of recruiting is over.

I really did like Paul Chryst's style of football, and I think he is a real football coach, he will probably actually be a much better pro coach to be honest, but he was so ridiculously 'white-bread' and uninterested in the recruiting game... he was just old school. Didnt play well with the kids that went to WVU... which some of those kids I wouldnt want anyways. Narduzzi is just a much more well rounded guy in terms of football/marketing/presentation/etc

The problem with WVU specifically, is what RichRod did those few seasons. That type of success is hardly achievable let alone sustainable at WVU. Hell, Pitt has something similar in the Majors/Sherrill era. Both of these eras were definite anomalies for both programs.

The difference, is that the WVU era is much more recent, and therefore their fanbase is a bit more distracted by this, and think this should be the norm.
