“Penn St. sux” would be on there but for Nerdy’s puritanical forced change of the Pitt victory song….still can’t believe he got away with the change and that it has stuck all these years.
Penn State isn’t a rival though. We haven’t played them regularly for 25 years. It’s time to move on. We were fortunate to have a visionary in SP leading Pitt athletics.
You don’t change a 100 year old university anthem because of some egghead’s sensibilities… doesn’t mean a thing that we don’t play Penn st. regularly any longer. Did the discontinuance of the Pitt / WV series alter WV’s antipathy for Pitt?
Yea, Pedersen was a visionary….one of the few AD’s who:completely whiffed on the direction of college athletics and thought hoops would be king; and was fired twice for incompetence by 2 different universities . The only guy with less of a handle on the direction of college athletics was the dullard bureaucrat who hired him not once but twice. Of course, since you are a guy who argues Pitt should deemphasize FB, that makes you a universe of ONE who both supports this idea and considers Petersen a visionary….

SP made chicken salad out of chicken s### during his first tenure.
I was in school at the time and I was furious. We always added the Penn st sucks part in on our own. Of course there were a few low testosterone guys who said that's silly, they took it out, don't say it anymore. But they were still my friends.
It's never come back after all these years.

Reid was such a dangerous weapon in the first year of this offense. Now that Bell has another year to install his system, it should open up even more possibilities for Reid and the offense.
