According to Zagsblog, Diallo will be making his decision very soon. Did Jamie ever make an in-home visit? I thought I saw that one was planned after the Jordan game, but I haven't seen any confirmation that it happened. I also saw that St. Johns had two in-home visits with him. Basically, for the last several weeks it seems like there hasn't been much Pitt-Diallo news. Is Pitt still really in the mix, or did it become clear that Diallo was headed elsewhere and Jamie focused his efforts elsewhere? Obviously if we never had an in-home visit that does not bode well...

I'm pretty sure that we did have the in-home visit.

Also, Pitt is certainly in the mix. It's not just there hasn't been Pitt-Diallo news. There hasn't been much of any Diallo news and the "Diallo camp" has "gone quiet" I'm told.

About four weeks ago, I would have told you that our chances were very good for Diallo -- maybe 50% or better. Yet, so much has changed since then. And now, I don't think anyone knows. And the best that you can say our chances are would be 20%. Or more likely, not even that high.

And it's still a strong possibility that he never plays in college despite who he selects.

Thanks, DT. Certainly Kentucky's increased interest may be a game changer. I'll keep hoping for a pleasant surprise for a change. H2P

I used to think we had a shot, but Yakwe never mentions Pitt and between his potential reclass and what I read of a package with him & Diallo - not really confident anymore.

Heck of a player. Would love to see him & Young combined.

I heard Jamie was going to visit, but found out that Diallo's family was preparing to make a native stew of Goat Curry and Jamie insulted them by saying "I ain't eatin that crap" and pfffffffffffffffft, that was it for us.

There has been a lot of increased speculation that he may not qualify.

I have thought it odd that he had not committed yet. For being a high profile recruit, with obvious attention from major programs it would seem like the Jordan tourney was ideal for him to commit there. I have wondered if academic qualification might be the hang-up.

Kids in the top 10 tend to wait. Three of them just committed in the past week or two (Rabb, Newman, Zimmerman) and three are uncommitted (Ingram, Diallo, Brown). Its really not that unusual.

Slice whiffing .
:)]

Some Pitt fan will, completely unironically, rationalize that.

(I really don't think Slice -- or Abdelmassih -- is at fault there, losing to a blue blood is going to happen....but given what an impact Slice was perceived to have had on Diallo while here it is kind of funny).
