It was very good but one part jumped out at me. I forget how Pompeani introduced the subject, but Bilas went on a semi-rant of college hoops "being 20 years behind every sport" in regards to speed of the game. In particular he was talking about getting rid of the hand checking and other defensive measures of the college game to make it "more like the NBA". What? If it had been a call up show I would have immediately dialed in. I don't WANT the college game to be like the NBA - the NBA is what it is. And more importantly IMHO, it is disingenuous to compare college hoops with college football (again using his example of college sports looking more like its pro counterpart). Athletes who successfully make it into the NBA are among the most elite. Because of the sheer numbers, pro football can draw from a bigger pool. Consequently, the survival of D1 hoops programs who can't recruit the elite offensive players RELY on defense to survive and in some cases, succeed.
I understand speeding up the game to keep more interest. But college hoops is a unique animal. Count me among those who hope its rawness never changes.
