Did anyone see PN's response when questioned about why Ollison wasn't playing in 2nd half?

He said "I don't know. You have to ask Coach Chaney that." He then went on to say missed assignments but clearly he was a stumped as I am. The more I see of Chaney the more perplexed I become. His penchant for playing James and running sweeps to the short side of the field just don't make sense.

Chaney has always had 100% of the Offense. It was obvious since the news conference when he was announceing the recruits earlier in the year. I think this is being blown out of proportion a bit that there is no rift between the 2.

Chaney has way too much control of the offense IMO. Obviously you'll have that when the head coach is in his first season and is a former defensive coordinator. But Chaney is deciding who starts and plays every position on the offense. Quite frankly he is pretty bad at his job also. Not only are his play calls mostly terrible, but he is the only person on Earth who can't see Ollison is the best option at RB.

I just can't understand his reasoning for benching Ollison after a missed block or two. Does he get that upset when our lineman are beat before the snap even hits Peterman's hands? Not to make excuses but Ollison shouldn't have even been blocking in the situations he was upset about, he should have been getting the ball.

I think it's starting to become obvious why Bielema let him go without a second thought.

I actually thought position coaches controlled who got snaps but so much for that I guess.

People are being way too hard on Chaney.

He has made some questionable decisions and his clock management against North Carolina was poor and there is no two ways about that.

However, he has also made some excellent play calls and he's done or despite some real personel weaknesses.

I do not think he is as good an OC as the guy he replaced. However, I don't think he's been that bad either and he has not been nearly as bad as the scapegoaters are trying to make a seem.

Chaney is an idiot thinking James is better than QO

Sometimes it seems like us fans are seeing stuff the coach isn't. Like they are too pig headed to open their eyes.

Then there are times we know exactly why they made a certain decision.

Shane Morris is a great example for Michigan. If you could combine his arm strength with Ruddock's touch, leadership, and pocket presence, it would make for an ALL B1G player. A number of us wanted to see Shane play this year, and yet for what Ruddock lacks in his arm, the above qualities won Jake the starting gig.

After the 3 INT start, I felt he should be benched. Harbaugh stuck with him, and although he can make a boneheaded play, or cant make the long throws, we have gone 5-1 since. I doubt Shane would of got us here.

I hope he isn't out for the year.

I don't know what the story is with the Pitt guy, but I would guess there is a reason he isn't getting PT.

I agree and can wait for the season to play out!

Agree again, but is still breaking in a new QB too and OC without Connor!

However, he has also made some excellent play calls and he's done or despite some real personel weaknesses.
Yep! There are flashes of Brilliant Drives mixed in with big mistakes. we won 6 Games by 4 to 5 Plays and the Defense held on to the wins. We lost 2 games by 4 to 5 Plays too?

I will leave the judgment the next 4 games, the Pitt Offense should be walking up sometime soon! I am also Happy to leave it to Coach Pat Narduzzi to make any changes if he is not satisfied!

If you read the whole response it isn't as bad as it looks.

QO sometimes seems to have a motor problem.
I keep pointing this out.
Conner, he got the ball 30 times a game and 30 times he got back up and went to the huddle begging for more, and he literally almost killed some guys and single handidly intimidated teams.
Ollison gets three of four carries in a possession and he is slow to get up grabbing at a leg, ends up tapping himself out at times.
Hes the best, most consistent back they have, and I can buy the argument that he should have gotten more carries at times, but he just is not mature enough to be a bell cow guy, yet.

Bingo.

He isn't as good as PC and his wing man, but PC is one of the five or so best OCs in college football.

And, people are screaming for Chaney to do what most of them complained about with PC, running between the tackles too much.

End of the day, Pitt had the second most yards and points against NC that they gave up to this point in the season.
