Do you think having 4 guys stand around and watch Nelly dribble the ball is a good offensive strategy?
No, but do you think that was the offensive strategy that he wanted his team to follow? Duke clearly upped their defensive intensity in the second half, and they took Pitt out of its offense. He surely didn't tell the team to stand around and watch 2 guys dribble.

He is the Head Coach. His job is to COACH the players. A good coach would have nipped it in the bud and called out some plays. If a player isn’t running the play, then sit him on the bench. Pretty simple.

What adjustment did Capel need to make? His team was a 9-point underdog and had a nice lead at the half. He didn't need to do anything different.
Why not, duke made some serious changes in the second half that Pitt had no answer for. Or, do you think duke didn’t make any changes

Duke made adjustments at the half. My point is that Pitt was up by 11 at the half - you do not need to make adjustments when you are up by 11. Unfortunately, Pitt could not handle Duke's adjustments in the 2nd half.

Duke sagged off ball to take away Pitt's dribble drive. This only works if Pitt can't make outside shots- which was one of 2 problems in the 2nd half along with defensive rebounding.

It’s pretty crazy that Pitt never uses Hinson as the screener in the pick n pop game. Looked like a lot of one on one Streetball in the second half against Duke. Coach has to get better when the stakes get higher. Also thought they could have used a timeout or two to get reset and refocused. Oh well on to Tech - H2P!

I saw Wichita State go to a double high screen against Pitt. Pitt had no answer for it. Trying that might have been interesting.

Also, how about a back pick on the 7 footer isolated on a guard?

Maybe Hinson at the top instead of a guard?

We went a very long time confounded by their adjustment. An adjustment of our own was clearly in order.

No but Pitt had no answer for what duke was doing in the second half, and it cost them that game, even a blind person could see duke made changes and adjustments in second half
