Dixon and Barton were at the National Prep Showcase this weekend in New England. They just offered top 100 2016 PF/C Taurean Thompson of Brewster Academy. He used to play at St. Anthony's but left for some reason. He says Seton Hall and Cuse were recruiting him hardest but hes very open and will decide in the spring. We haven't had much success with the New England area preps since Artis. This was supposed to be in Barton's wheelhouse. Barton has been doing better as of late, so maybe they have a chance. However, I doubt it.
Pitt also watched 2017 F Jarrod Simmons (originally from Pittsburgh) who plays at Cushing Academy. He didnt play great. 6 points, 11 boards, 4 blocks in the stats I saw. He's kind of raw but is a pretty good player. Only about 6'7" and is kind of a tweener form what I can tell.
Also, Levi Cook from last years class reclassified and is playing at Elev8 Academy in FLA. He blew out his knee last year but apparently lost a bunch of weight and looked good. He could be an option too.
