Currently ranked #33 and #32 on all-time list. Not bad considering one of them has coached Pitt his entire career and the other was a star player at Pitt.

Mark Few has the highest win percentage of current (active) coaches; like Dixon and Miller, his post-season records are not as indicative of their regular-season success. Wonder if this will be the year that either he (Few) or Miller finally get their FF appearance?

Stats are misleading.

Miller has gone to 4 straight Sweet 16's and has 2 elite 8's in the last 3 years. Arizona is fighting for a 1 seed again this year and will be favored to get to at least the Elite 8 again this year. Arizona has a stacked recruiting class in 2015, already signed a Top 15 player in 2016, and is going to get probably 2-3 more 5 star recruits in the next 2 years. Miller is going to the Final 4 or going to win a National Title, soon.

Dixon has gone to 2 NIT's in the last 4 years. Pitt has no depth on its roster and only has 2 recruits signed for 2015, both respectable but neither major impact players. Arizona will be competing for the Final 4 for the foreseeable future. Pitt might make the NCAA tournament next year. Maybe. My point still stands Pitt has the worst guard play in the entire ACC Conference.

Miller by a landslide right now. Arizona is trending up, Pitt is trending down or at best, treading water and not trying to sink.

The good news is a new article came out today stating Heron is firm to Pitt in Heron's own words. That's a start to turning this current guard mess around.

Chick Davies .7476
Dudley Moore. .7162

And Duquesne hasn't won since.

Both are very good coaches.

Miller has always been a better recruiter...and being a blue blood program certainly is going to make that easier to maintain.

Dixon has earned the benefit of the doubt and a chance to trend back up based on his track record at Pitt.

If your point is that Dixon hasn't turned Pitt into Arizona, no kidding

But I don't think anyone, short of maybe Calipari, would have done the same thing. If anything, I think people will look back to 2001-2011 and marvel at what Ben/Jamie did at a school that was essentially nothing before they got here. It would be like if all of a sudden Penn St became a powerhouse for a decade.

Do you really think Jamie would have any LESS success than Miller at Arizona? I don't. Howland went to UCLA and made 3 straight final fours. Arizona was a blue blood before Miller got there, and they'll be a blue blood after he leaves. Jamie is just a good a coach as Miller, not as good a recruiter, but if you put him at a blue blood that sells itself he'd win as much if not more than Miller. They both are VERY good coaches.

And I would guess Miller had better start making FFs out there, and soon with all the talent he's had in that program that hasn't made a FF.

Re: Well said Souf*

I mean..it's not an either-or proposition.

One is our coach..and one, won't be anytime soon.

If Dixon leaves, I'd sure hope we'd go after Miller..and I likewise expect Zona to throw the brinks truck at him to keep him.

Hmm. Let's pull from Jamie...needs All the support Pitt fans can muster!! Htp/Forever!!!!

Miller is the totally logical first call....

And I'd bet serious money he says no.

Archie Miller is I guess a more realistic target, but after the Miller/Pitt saga I doubt if Pitt would go down that road for Archie.

More likely, if Jamie left for whatever reason, I think you'd see Pitt possibly try to make a run at Smart, maybe entice him with an ACC job, if not him probably a coach from the Big East/American/A-10, maybe someone like Chris Mack if I'm just wildly speculating. Maybe Antigua turns around USF although I'd bet against that too.

Jamie Dixon is the 15th highest paid coach- IN THE COUNTRY.

He has had more than enough support at Pitt. He has a beautiful basketball arena. He has potential pipelines into NY, DC, PA, NJ basketball for recruiting. He has resources. And he had 10 years of basketball success in a row, including multiple conference championships, multiple 1 seeds, etc.. to build this program and not let it sink.

Teams like Florida State are blowing us away with recruiting. I hate excuses. There is no excuse for where our guard talent is. None.

Jamie Dixon needs to step it up recruiting. Do I think Miller would recruit better at Pitt? Yes. Do I think Miller after a 10 year building block at Pitt would be further ahead than Dixon because he can recruit better? Yes Do I think Miller would ever let Pitt's guards be as poor as they are now? After 5 years of success at Xavier with multiple sweet 16 and Elite 8 appearances at Xavier, the answer to that question is a big no. Who the hell is Xavier in a midmajor league? Like they are some powerhouse. But Miller turned them into a power quickly.

Jamie Dixon has no one to blame but himself. And if you think anyone else out there is dumb enough to pay him Top 15 money when he is going to the NIT or CBI every other year, you are crazy. He better turn it around soon and fix the guard play.

Right now Dixon is the most overpaid Coach in the entire country outside of Travis Ford and Josh Pastner.

That sums it up alright....can't argue with those facts!! We Must get get out of this funk...C'mon Jamie...!!!! Htp/Forever!!!

Actually, as of right now, Dixon has never gone to the NIT as a head coach. He probably will after the ACC season but not yet.,
