Make it more or less likely Heather fires Capel?

Does not firing Capel now make it look like some schools care about winning while others don’t?

What kind of message does that send to the fan base?

Mack at Louisville 68-37 overall. 38-23. Conference
Capel at Pitt. 48-60. 18-45

Pitt currently has zero recruits for 2022

Louisville had these recruits before the Mack firing:

You're welcome.

Wanting to win and actually doing it are two different things…

Regardless what anyone says Louisville is as likely to win a national title next year as they were yesterday, maybe less.

I don't think the Louisville situation is analogous to any other program in the conference. It was more of a dumpster fire after Pitino left than the Pitt program under Stallings. Chris Mack took a chance when he accepted the position. The lingering, as yet undetermined, NCAA sanctions make recruiting more than problematic. I believe he found the current situation untenable. From everything I can glean, he initiated his departure from Louisville. I think he wanted out just as much, if not more, than Louisville's message board fans wanted him gone. In many respects, this was a rather amicable, mutually agreed upon separation.

So we get what we deserve?
No. But I don't think there's much gained from comparing the two situations. It's like comparing Pitt football to Alabama. One school has donors who are willing to drive change on a level the other school will never match.

It will be interesting to see how this all shakes out for Louisville. No AD, no President so the board of trustees may be doing the hiring. That usually produces infighting as everyone wants their man. Pitt has been there and it will be interesting to see how it plays out for them.

No bearing whatsoever.
